You are confusing temperature with heat. The two are NOT the same! The two are proportional IF AND ONLY IF no phase change is taking place.
This is true in in an equilibrium mixture of the two phases. The air above a glacier is not in this state.
Ok, so what about the fall in temperature? What about it? Temperature is only proportional to heat for a specific material, including a specific mix of gasses. As water evaporation increases, you are altering the composition of the atmosphere. Ergo, an absolute temperature means bugger all. You must calculate the heat present (based on the gasses/vapour) and then talk about the change in heat.
Thus... none of the temperature graphs that anyone produces are meaningful?
I question the point that most abortions are for fetuses that would not survive for one reason or another. Since most abortions are for minorities (e.g., one third for African Americans), it's pretty clear that most are elective.
Pro-life (Democrat or Republican) advocates would probably agree with your statements about why abortions occur. That's not really the what the argument is about. The problem boils down to this--whether or not you believe that a fetus is a human being or a piece of tissue.
What they're doing isn't that dangerous in today's world.
Iran has one incentive to build a weapon, and that's to destroy Israel. The continued unpopularity of Israel in the UN would seem to indicate that much of the world wouldn't even care and might even applaud. The fact that it would be awhile before the Palestinians could reclaim "their" land doesn't appear to be an issue. Iraq has all the money and accomplices it needs to do what it wants.
North Korea can continue to extort the world and has nothing to lose. The US and UN will continue to make deals, provide food, perhaps even more nuclear technology, and North Korea will continue to break its agreements. No downside there, since there doesn't appear to be anything that North Korea won't do to its own people.
Now American fundamentalist extremists, enormously well funded fundamentalists, want to keep biology out of the classroom. Oil companies want to supress climate science. And both are the principal campaign financiers of the presidential administration and both houses of congress. And a majority position on the supreme court.
...
This is the kind of thinking that will relagate us to "has-been" status quicker than you can say "empire where the sun never sets"
So a few Fundamentalists try introduce Intelligent Design, Exxon-Mobil attempts to enter the global warming debate, through the normal political process, and it's the end of "science as we know it" in the United States. Where are the scientists in jail, the drastically reduced science funding, burning of books,...??
The secular state was tried--in the USSR, Nazi Germany, PRC and Cambodia. The 100 million people that died would seem to indicate that this isn't a good idea, either. At least the prevalent religions have a built-in governor that will eventually turn them around.

You forgot to mention the 900 FBI secret personnel files that were found in the Clinton White House, if that fits your template.
Actually, it was over sexual harassment. Clinton's lie occurred during testimony for the Paula Jones affair.

Talk about pity party!
