I know what you mean about Newegg. But heres a tip: When you get to the "Verified by Visa" after placing your order w/Newegg, just ignore it. Its meaningless, it doesnt work, and if you ignore it, your order will go through anyway.

Sigh. MS has to say "no". If they didnt. And if they did, NSA would make them also deny its existence. Listen, if you had a clue, any experience dealing w/NSA, you would not doubt the NSA's ability to do this and their intention to control information world wide. Oz

Ive said it a hundred times, so I might as well say it again: Anyone will sell more copies of nonDRM'd music than with DRM. Once Sony and company realize this, their greed of making money will overcome their fear of losing money... and everyone will be happy.

  10. Peter Svensson needs some pointers on video on Apple TV "Barely Watchable" · · Score: 1, Informative

Peter Svensson needs a basic education in video standards. Its so obvious, hes a journalist, and not somebody, lets say, who understands video systems well enough to offer more than a passing laymans take on what hes reviewing. He steps clear past his bounds of competency saying that the quality is so poor is approches the standard definition broadcasts.... Wow. I hope nobody simply drank that kool-aid... Why? DVD's have no better resolution than standard broadcast. DVD's were invented because they were the first consumer recording technology that effectively preserved the resolution of the NTSC signal its made from. DVD's have a resolution of 480 lines. NTSC has 525 lines with 484 lines or so actually used for the picture you see. And after MPEG-2 gets done with that analog signal, there is LESS information. You think high-speed scenes benefit from 480P standard? Well, they do, but Ive lost of my count seeing artifacts in fast-wipe or quick-action scenes due to the MPEG-2 compression, 480I, 480P or High-Def. ie - The standard-def broadcast signal, when received with a strong enough signal, should be preferable, anyday, to its digital SD 480I (which most people still watch) MPEG-2 counterpart. 11. Re:Fanboys on Core 2-Compatible Chipsets Compared · · Score: -1, Flamebait

I hope no one uses this as information to buy their motherboard for the new Intel Core 2 Duo if they want a tandem graphics solution. This "chipset" comparison is completely devoid of real-life issues. Like what happens if you want to build a tandem-graphics card rig. The e6700 CPU is a very desirable part right now and if you want SLI... Oops none of these chipsets support SLI... Ok, Im not partial, Ill buy an ATI solution. Only there isnt a real good one. Of the two fastest crossfire cards out now, one is slower than snot the other is a dual-slot! So if you want a good crossfire solution, youll have no PCI-X slots left... So the solution? The Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe Motherboard. Why? It supports all Core 2 Duo parts at full speed. And even the memory controller handles the 1066Mhz speed better than the 965/975X motherboards! Doh! (See http://www.anandtech.com/ Yes, the P5N32 SE may not handle the new quad core parts, but I dont know it wont either. Tom's Hardware just built a $10,000 dollar rig and posted it on their website. Which motherboard did they use. Gee, I wonder... Ad a sidenote, all AMD has to do is get there 65nm process going, Vista will be out.. and Intel will have, by comparison, a very obviously poor solution, bucause there CPU's wont be any faster in XP and AMD's 64 bit capabilites will outshine Intel's when it comes to Vista.
