As for the MYST lookalike, I'm currently working on a game that will be similar to MYST. The game will be a crossrelease with a single package for Win32, MacOS and Linux. So, hold on...
How about handing it out to a few OSS Game developers? With 20k you could probably make at least 4 teams speed up a bit. I'm currently involved in the making of a game that will be released on MAC, Win32 and Linux on a shared disc. We have serious problems with the funding so I guess that the others have the same problem. In our case the most of the money would go to graphics packages like PS, LW and such. This is because all our graphicans are MAC and Win32 users and wont even consider using GIMP.
Anyway, a few OSS Game developer teams could sure use the money. And if the OSS community suddenly get a few cool games. There sure would be a few more reasons for those balancing between OSS and Win32, MAC to switch over.
Ofcourse this is my biased comment, I would LOVE to see a big OSS game myself.
Note. I'm not trying to get the money myself! The rest on the team are NOT OSS supporters so. It's going to be closed source. But, it helps me get those coding fingers in place.
..to do faster and better components. I don't really think we will ever hit a brick wall as everyone says. There might be a small problem, but, problems are there to be solved... Right?

I can promise you this: In Sweden, a 512 kbit/s line is at $2500+/month... ADSL has been beta tested for about two years now, and still isn't released for the general public. And when it's released. It's gonna cost $50/month + 25 cents for each downloaded megabyte. And for those of you who thinks that Sweden has good infrastructure, that's true, but they aren't using it though. And when they do they charge insane amounts of money for it. Welcome to reality, we dont even have flat rate here. And they still thinks it's cheaper that way.
Just a thought, isn't a 1 meter resolution pretty bad? I mean, doesn't that mean that the relation is 1pixel=1meter^2 ?? Or is just me that have a slight brainfailure...

Does the rest of MoRE have anything to say on this matter.
If you could now once and for all make clear what MoRE is and how it's involved DeCSS.
(I think DoD was in on a little piece to but that might have been the little voices in my head)...
First of all, I'd like to nominate all of us that is using Linux and helping the community by offering help, coding or just by using it...
Second, I'd like to nominate Carsten 'Rasterman' Haitzler for his great work with Enlightenment
Third, I'd nominate myself if everyone else hadn't already done it... So if I say freshmeat, you say? That's right, Patrick Lenz!
I totally agree with that! Even now that we have PHP, perl + DBI.pm does anything! (except walking maybe)
I'm unsung and kind off an hero... Does that make me qualified?
