Yes, in NZ we're all given a sheep at the age of 16, we shag it's brains out for the next few years, then they're butchered and the meat is exported to Australia.

I think RMS gets a little bit too much credit sometimes. BSD would have survived without Linux and there's a lot of BSD licensed projects out there to go with it.
The GPL isn't the be all and end all of free software licensing.
