On a related topic (the article mentioned the crusades). Yes, the Muslims have a different view of the crusades than we have in the western world. The most unpleasant part is the tales of the cannibalistic habits of the invaders during the first to third crusade. It's unpleasant because it's probably true. (google cannibalism crusades for references) This part of our history is never or rarely told and when it's ever told it is always in the context of "they where so hungry". I'm sorry, but are you saying that vegetables are worse for the environment than meat? Because if you do you're terribly wrong. It's a simple question of efficiency. I know this is a fact that is not liked by most Americans, but a lot more food could be produce in a lot less land if vegetables were favored instead of meat. Ask yourself why does food in poor countries contain less meat and more vegetables? The answer is simple: because meat is expensive. Why is meat expensive? Because it takes more resources to produce it!
This is of course an approximation but the land usage of meat production is somewhere about ten (for cows, less for smaller animals) times the land usage of producing vegetables.
The way i read it this is the government providing private interests with a service that would take a serious amount of cooperation to succeed and so they are speeding up the process. Cooperation in favor of competition
Yes its a parody. The sad part is that, as an European, i had a hard time trying to figure out if it was real or not. I think this is one of Americas largest problems. That site sums up the European view of Americans quite well. By most European people you Americans _as a group_ are considered stupid. Sure, everybody understands that not all Americans are stupid and American universities are actually considered some of the best. But when someone says "..those stupid Americans..", which actually happens quite a lot, nobody disagrees. I think you agree with me when i say this is not a good thing for America.

No, the problem is not that we're accepting too many immigrants, but that we don't have a good enough integration system. If you look at the big picture we'll need a lot of people to be able to pay for all the people retiring in the next years and still have an acceptable growth. We need more people to work and we really need a better integration system.
