We should however be prepared to pay more for TVs if they do.

thanks, you are right. I read it earlier this year in "True Names and the opening of the cyberspace frontier" containing the short story by Vernor Vinge and a series of essays by various computing luminaries, including Stallman's story, edited by James Frenkel.
