You're assuming this is some type of batch process where the output is gasoline. It would likely be a continuous reactor where the feed stream is food for the e-coli and the outlet is enriched in the gasoline (or diesel) precursor which would have to be distilled and purified.
I may be boring but I politely tell them that I'm not looking to make a change right now, then I ask for their contact info in case I need them sometime in the future. They stop bugging me, it's a short call, and I have a list of headhunters if things ever turn South.
My previous job things weren't looking so hot with layoffs on the horizon etc so I started looking and I haven't been happier since I found something new.

Then I looked at the price and decided it wasn't silly, it was stupid.

vs.
a 12 pack of bic disposable (single blade) for $1.29.
They both last as long before going dull; the bic disposables work just fine.
