In other words, if among Apple devices, most people own and use the iPhone 6, that will of course it will have the most instances of failure. To get meaningful data, you'd have to adjust for that.

That's certainly one way to look at it. However, consumers who have more money than time don't mind paying for convenience. Sounds like the author just isn't the kind of person amazon is trying to reach. If saving money is the goal, I find that if I'm willing to shop around, amazon is usually cheaper than my local big-box store.

  7. I wouldn't call it hoarding on Stopping Universities From Hoarding Money · · Score: 2

That's one way to look at it. I'm not an expert on investing, but I do invest. I view it differently. Hoarding would be sitting on a mountain of money. But they are paying private equity fund managers to handle the money. What does that mean? It means the money, hardly from "sitting-around", is being invested into the market -- helping fund startup companies, investing in real-estate, providing capital for companies to invest in innovation, and whatever else may give a return. The return on investment is a constant source of income for the university. If the university spent all the money it would be gone and that constant stream of income would dry-up.

http://www.mysimplemobile.com/ I use simple mobile with my unlocked/jailbroken iPhone. It's $40 for unlimited voice/text/data. Best deal on the market. Only downside is that I don't get 3G data speeds because iPhone is intended for AT&T. But you can get full 3G if you use a phone that was intended for use with T-Mobile. Also, don't buy the SIM card through SimpleMobile -- get one on eBay for $1 (plus free shipping)

My coworker has a "standing desk". It was pretty much free. She just raised her keyboard and screen higher by using some cardboard boxes and textbooks. She also has some squishy foam pads on the floor kind of like the ones that kids-play-pens would have or cashiers would stand on.

Romans 1: "18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles." To summarize: 1) God reveals Himself clearly through his creation. 2) Man rejects God, even as He was clearly revealed. 3) Man is left empty and alone, with no explanation for existence. 4) In an attempt to fill this emptiness and justify himself, man makes idols and invents godless myths. One such myth that scientists talk about in a very unscientific way is the idea of the early "primordial soup" from which life began from a single cell. Ask for proof, and all you will receive are stories about what 'could have' happened. That is no explanation for the origin of life at all. You have life and breath and being. You act and make decisions. You are a living soul created by a God who loves you. You have everything you need to come into a relationship with him. Don't fight it! Just come.

Here's a bit of a science experiment I once tried:

    1. Put a bunch of ice cubes in a cup.
    2. Watch as they melt.
    3. Note that the water level in the cup doesn't change.
    4. Ponder meaning of melting glaciers...

I always wondered about this fact that the level doesn't rise. I hope somebody can explain to me how exactly melting glaciers raises the sea level by any significant amount.
