There is also ITN and CNN Europe.

And then there are all the news agencies, that supply news to TV channels - Reuters, etc.

Does this mean that there is less choice in the US over who supplies the news? If it is, it's got to be a bad thing.

You only have to look at the past few months, with camera men being sacked for editing photos for publication in major news papers, and footage of the Iraqi war to show that news groups need to be more honest - and have competition to measure their views.

Views on the push by the US forces ranged from "Hurrah, the people are free", to "Look how the Americans allow people to loot" - with all the channels showing the same footage. One side said it was the whole city rising up, with another saying only a few hundred were celebrating.

So far this morning, the BBC have said both!

I find modern news channels being more political than ever before, and views on the same thing seem to contradict each other.

It all makes it harder to find out the real facts - especially if a company wants to be classed as friends of a political group to get more information - would they really state the facts if it was going to hurt a 'friendly' political group?

We (Meaning U.S./China/Microsoft (now a large armed force, fighting for geek rights, and advertising space on the side of rockets)were all probably fighting over the Moon or Mars, designing evil laser weapons, and flashy jumpsuits. Now there are Aliens to shoot, we all join forces - Hurrah, World peace!!! Probably set up a Nuc a Non-Human Day (Mid summer - Longer days, can get more killing in)

My mistake - Too much beer when watching the series - (Beer - Makes things better! Why don't they run advertisements with this slogan?) Completely forgot about that. You're right, not as good as B5, but better than Star Trek with the moral message at the end of every show!

We all know that when we go out to space to take over planets, local bunny-type living entities should watch out - we'll be packin'!

  4. Space:Above and Beyond on X-Files Series Spinoff? · · Score: 1

Space:Above and Beyond was great, apart from the token Brit, looking for sandwiches in the desert, while learning to speak alien lingo - All the americans had new uniforms, so they looked modern, while this brit looked like a escapee from the Great Escape, with a 1940's Oxford accent to boot. Bang on, wot! Don't let jerry get you down, eh!! Does anyboby know if more Space:Above and Beyond was made other than the episodes leading up to the group being split up? (One floating in space, two crashing to a planet, and two escaping back to base). It was a great show, with a good storyline running through it, and you didn't know who would survive through each episode. Whipped the ass of Star Trek, and was pretty close to Babylon 5.

The evening of MPFC was great, but I would have liked to hear more of the Graham Chapman funeral service, as John Cleese becomes the first person to say F**K at such a event! - I think Terry Jones stands up to say F**K as the second person ever to say the word at a funeral! We are now getting repeats of the series - its about time too! The South Park Kenny/Parrott sketch should have been longer!!!! Hell's Grannies rule!!
