But wouldn't it be possible for them to release the corresponding module as a binary blob? In that case, unless there was an android kernel with the exact same version it wouldn't be of any use, I suppose.
Is it already known if it will be possible to have a functional android port on the n900?
I read that nokia pushed several drivers for the device to the kernel but I'm still not sure if the parts like the GSM radio have been open sourced. Without that the port wouldn't be too useful...
It's obviously in place only during development.
Taken from the warning screen:
"Plugins (e.g. Flash) are partway implemented and will cause frequent crashes. Use --enable-plugins to turn them on if you're ok with that; the browser is otherwise quite stable"
How many people actually use their agenda crap on their PDA? I do. The calendar stuff is pretty useful for birthdays or remembering you have to visit the doctor sometime in two/three weeks. Brain doesn't suffice if you have to remember lots of those.
And a camera? Yes, I bring along a camera... when I want to go take pictures of something. Never seen something you wanted to take a picture of but didn't have your camera with you?
I'd rather pick the two or three items I WOULD use and bring those along rather than one device with eight functions (six of which I don't care about at any one time) that does all of them poorly.
I think we've reached the point where phones do these things pretty good. 2Mpx cameras, good mp3 playback... It's actually really good technology they are packing
into them. Sure the phones with all these things aren't the cheapest, but I think it's still less than if you bought things separately. Also, your provider will make a good discount one them, which you don't get otherwise.
OTOH, how many pockets do you need to carry a phone, a camera, an mp3, agenda/pda...
I'm all for the all-in-one devices. It's annoying to have your pockets so full of things you can barely walk...
FTFA:
Where they're weak, however, is with energy storage. Compared with lithium-ion batteries,
high-end ultracapacitors on the market today store 25 times less energy per pound. I fail to see how a battery with less capacity than the actual ones can be of any use.
Anyone care to explain?
On both the DS and the PSP I have a hard time finding anything interesting, since there simply is to little original and good stuff around (i.e. stuff like Yoshi Touch & Go is original, but simply not any good in the long run). It's nearly christmas and you don't know what to write in your santa letter? Small list of DS games you should have played at least:
- Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!(essential, been playing this one for months) and/or Elite Beat Agents
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney AND PW: AA - Justice for all( both essential)
- Trauma Center: Under the Knife
- New Super Mario Bros.
- Final Fantasy III
- Animal Crossing: Wild World
3rd party Developers are not looking at the Wii as a place to make new creative games - why do it on old technology? The Wii is going to be looked at as a dumping ground or a place to make a cheap buck. PS2/XBOX ports, new levels on an old engine, rework the control scheme and push it out the door. Can't agree with you on that, just look at DS compared to PSP. Which one is getting the really creative games?
It's not about power, DS and Wii have more than enough to deliver a complete experience( who has an HDTV set at home, anyway?), just look at DS's catalogue... elite beat agents, final fantasy 3 just to quote some. The last thing I hear from someone who has played them is a complain about it being old technology.
I will :)

If you speak Spanish, why not Spain? Our "Ingenieria Informatica" is pretty much the same as your CS, I think. And we have lots of pretty girls ;)
I think the writer's text editor isn't quite multi-core ready, looks like a race condition to me... or maybe he should learn to type :P
Wasn't CFS( the new dispatcher) going to make it for this release?
like suitable for terrorists? :P

LMAO
yeah, you got a point there. But for now my zelda and mario kart t-shirts will have to do the job until I find one of those.

People will pirate them. :P

Did they really think they'd win a fight against the rest of the world?
