That doesn't sidestep the fact that you would be causing a LOT more damage to the innocent people, who probably had NO idea their bank was capable of such idiocy, than the bank that actually screwed up. There are many ways of embarassing and humiliating them without destroying the financial futures of the innocent people who's privacy and security was blatantly disregarded.
How would you feel if your name was on that list of sensitive information and somebody posted it?
Google should be able to tell which emails have been read and which have been downloaded via imap/pop3/etc. I would find it quite reasonable, since the bank SENT the email, for google to tell them the current status of that particular email.
If the email has been read/downloaded then deactivating the account is stupid because:
-The person is now PISSED
-They no longer have ANY form of communication with the individual.
If the email has NOT been read/downloaded it would be entirely reasonable for the bank to have google scrub that email from the system.
Either way, this sounds like it was handled VERY badly both all parties involved.
I strongly recommend you look at these for backpacking needs.
I would not recommned them for children, but we use one all the time when doing back-country (scouting/guiding/geocaching/etc) stuff. They have a "i'm ok" button, a "general assistance required" button and another button with a DIRECT link to a monitored station that will immediately dispatch 911 to your exact location.
What about water, electricity, oil (alberta's got a crap-load), beef (texas only has so many cows), gigantic robotic arms,....? Now what exactly does the US make of value, flags?
Minutes? 99% of laptops come with "dummy" plastic cards in the side where you would add extra network/etc cards later. All you need is an ACTUAL card with the plastic end on it, and you could do the switch by reaching into the guy's bag on the subway. Most of them even have dummy SD cards in them.
Same here. We had these in high school about 6 years ago. They were useful, but I find it very hard to believe that anything past max heartrate, time spent about target heartrate and a few other stats were even recorded, let alone written down. The new straps are all rubberised, so they are pretty easy to clean as well (not sure why the school isn't just getting the kids to share them).
Unless you want a crumple zone.
I was not defending the banks actions, in fact I believe they handled it VERY badly, but the suggestion you gave was even worse.
Half the clips in that video dealt with alternative energy sources (wave, wind, etc), yet there is no such category to vote on??
That makes no sense what-so-ever. You have taken the argument about security and turned it to a stability test.
How long until YouTube simply doesn't support IE6?
Soon.

...gets a judge to erase your ass.
That's one big eraser!
Sounds more like they chased it out...
Why didn't google simply offer to scrub the single offending email from the system?!?

Fine, (texas can only reproduce cows so fast). Is your anal retentiveness contagious?

But what about the pictures all the other people took with their own cameras?
You've obviously never had a potential employee look you up on facebook and find 50 pictures of the one frat party you went to and got totally wasted.
Maybe if the indirect benefits of yet another reduntant communication system do not even approach the drawbacks of giving up a shitload of privacy?
There, fixed that for you.
Through a cable...?
Then those people are idiots for not suing their ex-employer.

Knowing the math issues and stability in excel 2007, almost anyone could activate that...
Or this could be a diversion...
Hey cool, the hotel fixed all the scatches in my cellphone while I was having a shower. This calls for a BIG tip to housecleaning!
Praise for MS by kdawson.
There fixed that for you.
That's ok, you only missed 2 words...
