I use firefox (wih adblockplus) and it works great. If I need to use IE7 then I do with the "IE7Pro" addin - that blocks adds! So both my main browsers block most adverts! Hip Hip Hooray! I can go to pages on NOT have to decipher through endless crappy adverts to get to the info I want. Too many sites run way too many adds - to the point where the internet is nothing more than one big advertisement ! IF sites were to make advertising more appropriate, and less obstructing then people wouldn't need add blocking software. So if your forced to go to some sites with IE then dont forget to install IE7Pro available from http://www.ie7pro.com/
I've been designing and tinkering with a project for 18 months now on my own and have found it hard to get genuine help at times. What I plan to do myself, is setup a small website with my current code, design notes, a small message section etc. Include screenshots, and design graphics and a list of potential features AND then put the word out through various sites looking for help.
People want to see the basics work before they help so you need to work on at least a basic dmeo code of your project then seek further help.
Part of a team development is you need to have an area where collaboration between all members, and potential members, can be seen. Discussions, ideas, demos, code snippets etc. (Wikis are good for this such as Tiki Wiki etc.)
My initial reaction to Vista is disappointment. On the skin its Windows XP with Vista Inspiration installed (New theme) It runs okay, definitely slower than XP but its okay. SOund scheme is pathetic. Definitely some blatant rippoffs from OSX. Crashes on numerous program, including Office 2003. Obviously not fully compatable. UAC is a bit of a joke. ("I want to hack this computer", "Press Okay to Continue!" ??) It works and it looks pretty but it just feels like a XP hack with some XP functionality removed. No Up Folder Level. Confusing messages. Networking is badly implemented.etc Must turn off UAC to keep user sanity. Definitely NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Very disappointing.
Have to agree.
Vista promised the world and the only things being pushed as the reason to upgrade are:
AERO desktop, - Vital to have a pretty, graphic hungry, slow GUI! - must buy that $500.00 graphic card so I can run my accounting system?
Increased Security - Yes I do really want to delete that file! Really I do, Honest, True , Okay! Please, may I?
Digital entertainment - providing you are watching it alone, on 1 monitor, on one machine, and don't want to use it on your iPod (Or Zume ha ha) - You can always buy the same content again for the ipod, and again for the Zume, and again for your car and again so you wife can watch and again, and again........... . . .
Are New DRM Technologies Setting Vista Up for Failure?
Too late MS did that!
Contrary to the knockers and music perfectionists, this method works very well. I've been using a similar method for years and to be honest, the quality loss is that small that only the perfectionist in ideal conditions will pick it up. 99% of the people couldn't tell the difference in normal surrounds!
Well Done!

Then these sites will have to block IE as well?
