Im not sure I'd trust a homeless dude with a $700 PS3, but if a homeless guy can make a few bucks for whatever, so what. And dont blame sony... its supply and demand. If i had the money to blow initially, I'd buy 10 or 20 and sell em on ebay right around christmas for a hefty profit too.
It would depend on the school whether the SDLC fell under the broad scope of 'Computer Science'. Was it an 'applied' or 'theoretical' curriculum? In my experience at Oregon institute of tech (which is more applied in its approach), I had classes that touched upon the cycle at varying degrees; in both the software program and the IT degree programs (I started in IT, then moved to software). If you are going to be actually developing software or in charge of people doing so, I'd say you should probably know at least SOMTHING about it.

Are they still trying to make the start up sound mandatory?
C'mon guys we spent 18 months perfecting it! Why you would you want to turn it off?
By then we should have fedora core 8 or 9 and the animal names tacked on to the ubuntu distro will start getting even wierder.
Its written in qbasic, who knew.
Does anyone actually leave windows firewall on anyways? Its one of the first things to go when I have to use windblows xp.
