Can you or any other economist explain the SF Chronicle?
I gave them $15 in March and they haven't stopped delivering since. I've begged, I've pleaded, I've mailed them 6 times, I've made my account inactive, I've told the bastards on the phone that I don't want to restart my subscription because it's still coming, goshdarnit! I'm considering moving just to thwart them. Please, just make it stop!
Great, not only do we have idiots walking around talking on their phones and not paying attention to the busy streets/sign posts/cliffs in front of them, but now they're going to be trying to aim a camera phone towards the person in front of them at the same time?
Put another way, the bisection bandwidth between participants at a decent conference should be high. The bandwidth external to the conference really shouldn't matter.
There are much better ways to get an internet connection which don't involve spending hundreds of dollars to get into a hotel.
Google seems to have this absurd belief that if they physically or technically can do something--they also have a right to do it, regardless of existing laws, morality, and ethics. Their arguments are nothing short of absurd. They deserve to be knocked back down to reality.
Nope, I specifically mentioned the Pittsburgh Left. It's a quirk, but not necessarily a bad thing. It's not their fault that local geography forces stop signs on the entrances to off-ramps.:( Try as I may, I cannot explain the Squirrel Hill "we brake for tunnels" behavior.
However, compared to Philadelphia, Boston, or the Bay Area, I consider Pittsburgh drivers to be fine, indeed. If your reference is Portland OR, we might have a debate. There are some insurance industry "surveys" (not studies, IIRC) that back up this assertion.
Please don't forget that it's green and has wonderful fall foliage, four real seasons, reasonable humidity and the local yinzer charm. There are neither forest fires nor significant earthquakes.
People are even half-decent drivers, although after >10 years I never became comfortable with the Pittsburgh Left.
If you want to learn more about this, I suggest Dr. Wilson's talk on InPhase's technology at CMU in November. It's a very accessible and interesting talk for someone who is not familiar with the field.
My sense of smell is extremely poor. I just assumed it would be a skill I'd develop as I got older. (I didn't, of course). I also never understood why people said they loved the smell of flowers. If I put my nose directly up to flowers, they smell unpleasant--somewhat sour--pardon the term, I really don't know how to describe it.
A few odors really do bug me, however. The smell of cooking bacon makes me feel sick. The smell of certain seafood also bothers me immensely. There were a few particularly memorable instances (in a very bad way) where I could have sworn that my housemate was cooking a 50% solution of bleach (actually scallops, I think) and used motor oil (tilapia). It didn't go over well when I told him what I smelled.
I've worked with them before. They're a real bunch of knobs.
Used Firefox or Thunderbird recently?

I'm reminded of the borg.

You wouldn't believe how many problems this would fix in CA.
Pleas God, no. Nobody wants Wolf flashing us.
You haven't read too many theses. There are holes all over the place...

YaCahn't? Says hoo?
The difference, of course, is rooted purely in the awkwardness of the speaker.
Question one: How does it rate Hemmingway?
Question two: How does it differentiate between Hemmingway and Imitation Hemmingway?
Been to northern California recently?

6 months out and I miss Pittsburgh!
Given the number of grammar errors in the summary, it's really all gibberish.
>> and a dedicated 24/7 tech support person with excellent dish washing skills?
> Competitively, it's really a wash even though it sounds impressive,
Let's hope they wash.
Astronomical, eh? Have you checked NASA's shrinking budget? :)
googoogaga.
Your mind must have gone to waste. Recall, your waist is halfway between your mind and your shoes.

Zonk doesn't read past the headline.

> Seriously, Creative went from awesome to shit. What happened? I still haven't figured that out.
