  1. Zune average sales rating on Amazon..... on Zune Sales Not So Bad After All · · Score: 1

The Zune is currently at an average Amazon position of........drum roll......277. I just added the three 'colours' together and divided by three - hey, its probably bad math, but then these M$ scab phony news items started it first.

  2. pirate 'tax' in Canada on Universal Wants a Slice of Apple's iPod Pie · · Score: 2, Interesting

No-one has been sued in Canada - the law at present seems to say that file sharing is LEGAL. The money collected from sales of ALL MP3 players, CD's, DVD's etc, goes to the music biz in some form and de facto allows us Canadians to unlimited file share. You cant have a tax on file sharing to make up for lost revenue and then go after people for doing what they have just paid a tax for.... Logically, Universal are making a HUGE mistake by calling DAP owners thieves - thats going to have a nasty rebound on their sales - online or offline. I predict we are seeing the beginning of the end for record companies - I dont see why we need them any more. Record your music on a computer, market it through various online stores and then see if a PR company will pick you up to help publicise youtr efforts. Once the band is popular - dont make CD's, only sell through online stores. It saves plastic, paper, time trouble etc. And it dumps the greedy dinosaurs at Universal etc. in the toilet. Apple might be wise to start their own record company - call it Apple records Inc. (!), and start taking on artists ONLY for online sales.

  3. zune crap on The Soul of A New Microsoft · · Score: 1

If you buy a Zune, you are supporting the Recording Industry(?) and its belief that all music listeners are thieves. Microsoft also believes this because they pay a tax to Universal Music Group that acknowledges that some recompense is due to Universal for stolen music. M$ will NEVER change, they hate all consumers, they hate anyone who isnt a M$ clone/supporter thing. They will eventually be exposed and destroyed, but it will be too late - Gates and Ballmer and the rest of the ugly bunch have run off with the cash. Defend yourselves - soon they will be licensing the air - they already have the land , the water, etc.

  4. Re:You can draw comparisons with another company.. on The Soul of A New Microsoft · · Score: 1

Apple market share is #5 in the list of Computer manufacturers and closing on the #4 spot. Market share said to be as high as 6% and growing fast. To say it has fallen is stupid/troll-like. Silly to call Jobs a liar without calling Gates and Ballmer the same. Actually your post is irrelevant - why am I replying to it?

  5. Re:Big Surprise on Critical Review of the Zune · · Score: 2, Insightful

Have you considered that releasing products that dont work isnt the right thing to do? Because of the press influence that M$ can exert, innocent buyers get crap - thats WRONG. Secondly, did it ever cross your mind that the phrase 'iPod killer' is idiotic? This is NOT about proper analysis but more about SPIN - the jury has returned and delivered its verdict - the zune isnt a very good product, brings NOTHING new to the game, and has some serious software problems. There is no 'killer' - just a cascade of products over time, hopefully getting better. The zune will be judged over time and by its functionality at all levels. So far, its not doing too well, and to suggest that M$ is using it as a beta test is reason enough NOT to buy one. Furthermore, Microsoft is a badly managed company that has been boosted by the bandwagon of IT 'specialists' who love the fact that Windows has never worked properly - they make a lot of money by convincing the public that screwed-up systems are normal - and then charging them for repair. MS is a BAD example of how to live and work in a decent society - do you wonder that the zune isnt doing so well?

  6. Re:and here's mine on iPhone Rumour Round-up · · Score: 1

Yeah. But a choice of convergence would be nice. I would buy an iPhone if it simply was an iPod, say 4 gigs and a phone. No downloading music to the phone - there isnt enough rhythm in that market anyway. I am listening to music on the iPod, the phone rings, and I answer it as the music sort of fades/pauses. I speak, I ring off, the music plays again. I continue my commute. I want to make a call, I press something, speak the name, it dials, I speak, I ring off, the music is back. Thats ALL I want from an iPhone. NO PDA, NO web, NO email - just music and phone. If Apple can do that, they will sell a pile, I think.

  7. Re:The article is actually quite positive... on Opening Zune Sales Flaccid · · Score: 1

You 'think' the sales are pretty good? WTF? thats just silly - of course it sold a few to M$ employees and general weirdos, but after 4 days its dropping like a stone. People dont like it, and they couldnt give a rats ass that its Microsh*t - they want an ipod - thats what they ask for. This 'war' was won TWO years ago by Apple. Many people report seeing Zunes not selling - there are many other options as well as ipods and there are lots of other places to get music, as well as iTunes. 'zune'? its crap and thats final. Sandisk outsold it, Creative zen outsold it.....its history already. iPod is a 100 million seller by january 07 - thats a win - theres no way back for anyone unless they come up with another NEW way to listen to music.
