When a friend of mine failed to get into any of the grad schools he applied to, his Warcraft play time went waaaay up, like to 8 hrs a day. "It's terrible because it makes you feel like you're really accomplishing something." It's been my substitute for accomplishment at some sad times, too. As for the social aspect, did they have the subjects dungeon crawl for six hours with 2 kids whose conversation consists entirely of "lawlz" and 2 farmers who don't speak at all before having [Giant Wah-Wah of Power] ninjaed? Just wonderin. And, yeah, I AM playing Warcraft in another window- just a mana break, gotta go!

The Wii may prove there is more to gaming than the teenage male gamer market (and the similar recently-a-teenage-male market), and then we'll see more diversity in games- one result would be more non-violent choices that are still fun and popular. And more choices for gamers like me who can take or leave shooters!

Ahh, but they got a nice tax break for buying a hybrid, making it the same price as the regular Camry (their last 3 cars), and it does get better milage. So it was cheaper, as well as cooler.

Three people in my familty bought new cars this year, all three were interested in checking out hybrids. Each waited months just to test drive a Prius; the dealer said they couldn't keep them on the lot for even a day, while the same SUVs stood there week after week. My parents and sister ended up actually FIGHTING over the only hybrid Camry they could get ahold of (both are Bush repubs by the way, they just thought Hybrids would be "cool" and cheaper in gas). It makes me wonder how many more people would be buying hybrids if the supply wasn't so tight, and how many people go for the SUV because the salesman can make them one heck of a deal on that Ford Behomoth that is so overstocked.

At a decent price (yeah, that'd be a while) this type of system would be great for some people with certain mental disabilities, including head injury with memory loss. Low level alzheimers perhaps? A health care aid is way overpriced for helping you with simple things like remembering what you need to buy or what you should wear, besides being awkward. Ideas like this might help "high functioning" disabled people stay out of group homes or nursing homes someday. So some people care, maybe not most people.
