    The Gov. Develiped Arpanet which was only a piece of the puzzle that helped make the Internet. The Internet we have today was mostly built by companies like Compuserve Delphi and AOL.

    So the campus should open the Internet to everything, not filter porn sites or anything? Obviously they have authority to regulate their Internet usage, such as access to torrent sites etc. Maybe there was too much traffic going to this one website and the Firewall put a stop to it.

    Put ICS on it. I have the original Galaxy S (US Cellular Mesmerize) that only had 2.3, but I found ICS on Rootzwiki and it works great.

    One of the main disadvantages about the Pi is where they placed the ports. If they put all ports on the back then it would be much easier to put it in devices like Stereos, etc. And with no wifi built in, that means using a usb device hanging out the side.

    Regulating a Power Plant is not the same as Regulating the Internet. I'm sure Power Plants have their own security and guidelines they have to follow.

    not for political reasons. Most schools or universities will filter Internet content, this is nothing new, and usually it's for security reasons. I would like to know if their Content Filter picked up “change.org” by accident, or was it intentional. I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done though, since the Internet on campus is a privilege. It's no different than a Cyber Cafe, or Motel blocking access to some websites, it's their decision how they want to control their Internet.

    This is not the same thing is a million ton of steel hurdling toward you at 60 mph. No one's lives are at stake here, and the Internet has been working fine without Governments interfering. Besides, it's the responsibility of businesses and individuals to secure their own network or computers; it's not the Government's responsibility. What's next, they come to my home and tell me my computer is not secure? It's totally BS!

    Or 3) They make Millions of these boards and only sell thousands, stuck with a massive overstock, and the company goes bankrupt. I seriously doubt they will sell that many, since there are already many alternatives at low cost. If Roku can sell their box for $50 and still make a profit, the Pi can't be that big a deal.

    This sounds great for some enthusiasts, but to use this as your primary STB with no case (just bare board) sitting on my cabinet, come on.

    My wife and I purchased lots of VHS tapes for our kids, it filled up two cabinets along with some DVD's. I decided to just purchase a NAS and store all my movies their, with Raid Redundancy all my movies are safe and it doesn't take up hardly any room. I can elminate the old VHS player which takes up so much room and use my Roku Box the size of a ciggerett pack instead. Even if you do keep VHS tapes for Nostalgia reasons, they won't last long, and most newer TV's don't play SD video very well, it looks very grainy in most cases.

    What does Religion have to do with any of this? These are just religious people learning some science, where did they put their study and scientific learning in religious books? Find something in the Koran or Bible that makes scientific truth? Remember, most people who study religion, do so through religious books, not from Wikipedia!

    Not to mention than Iran wants to wipe Isreal off the map! There is more religious tension in the middle east than ever before. I'm sure the next Major war will be the direct result of Religion!

    While hardcore Creationists may deny evolution, most Christians, not to mention the thousands of other religions, are in favor of evolution.

    Oh yea, they sure are infavor of believing the world is Billions of years old instead of 6,000 years. Yea, they believe human's evolved from Ape like animals, when the Bible says God created man. Religion has never tried to understand the world they live in through scientific observation, they never questioned their beliefs. Religion has never contributing to understanding our world, because they already claim to know it all!

    Religion NEVER helped in the advancement of technology. Throughout history, Religion has prosecutted scientists, because their discoveries went against the Religious Doctrin! If the world Blindly followed Religious Code, we would be living in the Stone Ages still!

    Sounds like Symantec's usual tactics of - create a terrible virus, tell everyone how bad it is, and only their products can protect you. This has been done before to try and sell AV. With Microsoft now having it's free Security Essentials, AV companies are getting desperate!

    They'll find some way to wake you up with a small electrical shock, or Sonic Sound. They'll start using this technology overseas to keep workers working to maximum capacity. I think they had something like this in the movie THX1138.
