  1. Re:Mike Huckabee on Best Presidential Candidate, Republicans · · Score: 1

According to Cato his tax cuts weren't really cuts. http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=8838

He raised taxes on everything from groceries to nursing home beds. Huckabee answers these complaints by pointing out that he "cut taxes 94 times" while governor. True. But most of those tax cuts were tiny, like exempting residential lawn care from the sales tax. Some cuts reduced overall state revenues by as little as $15,000. On net, Huckabee increased state taxes by more than $500 million. In fact, Huckabee increased taxes in the state by more than Bill Clinton did.

The meaning of evolution is precisely the problem that creationists have with Evolution. Facts don't exist in a vacuum, meaning is derived from facts such as we are not the center of the Universe (Geocentric vs. Heliocentric). Evolution makes us a part of nature not above it. It means that we aren't the special creation of a deity and once again science shows how humans are not the center of the universe.

I'm a chemist that does drug formulations and I have made nanoparticles. The nanoparticles that I made were specifically, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) for an oral formulation to increase bioavailability, but we have also made nanoparticles out of biodegradable polymers. The solid lipid nanoparticles dissolve quickly because of the low melting point of the lipids. The biodegradable polymers are typically poly lactic glycolic acid (PLG), which because of the large surface area of nanoparitcles should cause more rapid hydrolysis of the polymer to it's monomer, Lactic acid or Glycolic acid. Lactic acid is what is produced in your muscles after you work out to cause you to be sore, but both Lactic and Glycolic acid are commonly found in the body.

Nanoparticles are really small so it would take a lot of them to cause a clot. The larger microparticles when they are injected form a depot and are not intended to be in the circulatory system.

I remember hearing something about this technology but I think that there were serious side effects to the "homing ability" of the nanoparticle. I'm assuming that the nanoparticle is a biodegradable polymer with some sort of protein coating.

Sin is disobeying god and since no one can agree on which god to believe in, or for that matter how to interpret gods "word", I prefer to base my ethics on reason. So if anyone can give a rational argument for why homosexuality is wrong, other than because my god tells me so, I'd love to hear it. Based on how you interpret the Bible just about anything could be moral including violent video games that encourage killing non-believers.
