I like fire and explosion as much as the next guy, but this is out and out criminal. If W.R. Grace was found dumping metallic sodium into a pond Slashdot readers would whip themselves into a rabid frenzy. Ask this super genius to post some photos of the pond three months from now, esprecially those plants we see in the background.
Won't it be winter by then, and the plants are dead/sleeping anyway?
Anyone that knows any browser that is "good" on monochrome displays?
I tested quite a few, and ended up using Netscape, in spite of it inverting all pictures making them look like negatives.:-)

Here at Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), we don't have such problems at the start of the semester, mostly because the administration is done by students.
Administration up to the first hubs is managed by students, I am one such admin and handle everything for 100 outlets. The users bring their own hardware, run any OS they desire and we provide installation instructrions for Win* and MacOS. Either most people are capable of installing their NICs and configuring their software by themselves, or there are lots of frienly neighbours around, since it is very rare that a user comes back to me to ask for help.
I spend less than an hour a week during peaks working on the net, and usually less than 5 minutes a week otherwise.
A couple of other points - normally I've found FM reception in cubicles to be really bad, probably due to electromagnetic interference. Any way around this? Try to make a bigger antenna, add a few meters of wire to your current antenna.
Would be cool if we got a "Directors Cut" too.

Textmode browsing is ok as long as the pages are clean. But ppl use way to much fancy features these days for it to be very practical.
I were still using lynx a few years ago, but it became harder and harder to see all the pages I wanted to, so I moved to Netscape.
I even find myself using IE over vnc every now and then to see those really ugly pages.
