    First you title your post iPhone and iPad then complain about people not doing real work on their computers. Who does real work on a consumer device like an iPad/iPod?

    Second, you don't think millions of us creative types use "real" computers because we prefer a tool that accomplishes what we need for work better?

    Third, you do realize that any company's standard input devices are crap and any "real" person buys third party keyboards and mice, that also work on Apple's "real" computers as well?

    Who cares if it's cheap. More importantly, a keyboard is still the best input device for text.

    This stuff always pops up, yet we always go back to mouse + keyboard. Why is this? Because everything after them is novel for about 5 minutes, and then we realize the reason we use a keyboard + mouse in the first place...because it's better.

    No, this is EXACTLY like a locked door, but the guy went to an employee and said, "can you let me in that locked door over there"? Then the employee let him in. He didn't trick the employee into letting him in (no jedi mind tricks or anything), he just asked to be let in, and they did.

    Yes, there are laws that say a Casino can't refuse service.

    I'd like to see the lawsuit against the first casino that refused service to a 40 year old black female Jamaican catholic disabled veteran with children (the federally protected classes).

    DRM isn't mentioned in the article, and it is clear from reading TFA that this has nothing to do with Apple's DRM scheme (that is not mentioned in the article), but a way to trick the Rovio app.

    Complete waste-of-time non-issue FUD.

    This is an issue of superlative language versus your binary logic.

    Introducing adjectives like "alleged" and "claimed" is another indicator of biased language, especially when there's no reason to doubt the initial statement.

    I go to work at 8 am. I don't have to say I go to work at 8 am...allegedly, to remain unbiased because it is obvious that I actually do go to work at 8 am. If you add "allegedly", you are inserting the bias that you personally find it dubious that I go to work at 8 am.

    Google MAY do evil in cases where they have little choice if they want to continue to exist.

    Uhhhhh, Google made a choice to make money by serving up ads. It's not like they've said, "hey, let's make cool software so we can sell ads", they said, "hey lets sell ads so we can make cool software".

    I'm the neuro-typical PHB you mention. I often fret about what I'd do if all my smart jerks just up and quit on me. See, you guys really do hold power over me. I can't fulfill the contract without your labor, so you actually hold the advantage.

    Nice post, btw. My wife is a dev and probably an aspie, and this reads exactly like something she'd say.

    I think the key is the bigger the company gets the more likely there are to be imperfect people in it, or the harder it is to get identify and get rid of them.

    I realized that no company will ever meet my high standards with perfect hires in every position, but I also realize that some jobs just require a warm body and the person doing the work needn't be that great. If we were all great, who'd be left to do the crap work that all the great people won't do?

    I used to be that guy, about 20 years ago, until I realized it does nothing for personal growth or advancement. I also realize that I really didn't know better and only thought I did.

    I think that many smart people know they are smart, but don't have to prove they are smart. Heretics are generally just trying to let everyone else know how smart (they think) they are.
