The three laws are a literary construct, they are flawed as was asimov's intenet. All of his stories that involve the 3 laws are about how robots end up circumventing them.

There are a few games I have played already that have evoked an emotional response. Just like one poster the death of Aeris did in fact make me cry. I felt an amazing feeling of wonder when I first played myst. I most definately felt fear and suspence from just about every Resident Evil game. I came to care for Alyx Vance in Half Life 2. Now with any subjective medium mileage may vary but games have been made already that do this, and lets not forget a well orchestrated game of DnD. Oh and another one would be the Scene in Chrono trigger where your robot companion is mercilessly attacked by other robots while you are only able to watch. All it takes like a good movie or book is a story and characters that you can invest yourself in.

The difference with Apple is that they make both the product and the software that runs it. Microsoft makes only software that is installed on other products. Personally I think that PC's should come either blank or maybe come with a live windows cd/dvd and a live linux distribution. Both will have basic funtionality and the consumer can decide which they like better, from there they can decide to install either distribution after they have seen how each works. However the problem then becomes, which linux distribution should you offer the customer? This is a problem if they have no computer knowledge or no knowledge of linux, so the default will always be windows. We are talking about the average consumer who most likely has had most exposure to windows than to other operating systems. So the point is mostly moot, since given the choice consumers will choose windows. I think the distributors of linux should maybe start having Linux fairs at malls and libraries show people the value and of an alternative OS and show that it can do everything they want it to do. Maybe even do some comercials?

If you murder someone with a bat, or 100 people the same way or if intently run someone over with a car, either way you look at it you are still a murderer. What's the difference? The difference would be your rights after serving your time. If you were convicted of vehicular man slughter you can still buy a car and drive. If you bash someone's head in with a baseball bat you can still purchase and own baseball bats, even if you robbed a bank you can still go and open a bank account. See a trend here? Sex based crimes are the only crimes that require extra punishment even after time served and even after probation. If convicted you have to register for life which, restricts communities and areas in which you can live, which I beleive kind of violates the inalianable rights granted to us. Admittedly the Declaration of independence isnt necesarily law but with these extra punishments tagged on your liberty is restricted and so would your pursuit of happines, if in that your happiness is to own this awesome house, but unfortunately there are too many schools in the area too close together, cant live there sorry. So there is a very distinct difference between violent crimes, white collar crimes, and sex crimes, when there should be none. After you servered your time have done your probation you are and should be free. Your crimes are a matter of public record but other than that you should be free to live your life as any citizen would, see because after service of your time thats what you are again a citizen. This isnt really true though.
