    You can't buy a car and then take out the engine and demand a refund on the engine, so why should you be able to buy a computer and not use the software and demand a refund on that?

    I don't get why all you people are suggesting computer-based solutions.
    Running wires to each room in the house would be both cheaper and have sound quality independent of network quality.

    I think that the poster was intending to agreggate a cable, DSL, and satellite link to make a more reliable connection, not get multiple ISPs on one line.

    Browser chrome means the browser UI. The term originated in Firefox, where it is used in the urls for extensions and browser XUL (e.g, chrome://browser/content/browser.xul )

    That's pretty scary. 40 million messages a week at about 5 kB per message is about 200 GB/week, wasted on spam.

    Because of its altitude it would be safe from surface-to-air missiles and most aircraft.

    65000 feet is only to avoid getting hit by missiles. I don't know why everyone's talking about airplanes.

    From that it is so obvious that it is merely an imaging artifact. For Atlantis to be the size shown there, it would have to be about 3000 km^2 (about the size of Delaware).

    To clarify, the UTC leap second Wed Dec 31 23:59:60 2008 was ignored, meaning that the Unix second 1230767999 lasted exactly two real seconds.

    Having your computers behind a NAT provides absolutely no advantage over having public IPs behind a router that disallows incoming connections by default.

    Nobody knows how to do this.
