Here's even more 'fair use'. I can go to Wally World and buy a boom box that auto-rips to memory stick or included mp3 player. (I picked up a RCA toy that had the mp3 player, but there were Sony toys as well.)

  2. Re:Linux is no better on What's Really Broken with Windows Update - Trust · · Score: 1

Really? Then when I was in Dell's server support and Microsoft's NT 4.0's service pact 6 came out, all those calls about Oracle databases no longer working was a feature? And you think it was documented in the NDAs? Funny how SP 6A came out less than two weeks later - same update minus the attack on Oracle. Same stuff different day for MS. Add to it if they do close (or just get hacked or DdoSed off the net) all those XP and Vista systems will die the next time they try and fail to authenticate. Trust? I trust that the shite will be hitting the fan - maybe not today or tomorrow, but it's coming. Even the most advanced equipment in the hands of the ignorant is just a pile of scrap.

  3. lost? or user error? on EarthLink Is Losing a Lot of Email · · Score: 1

Earthlink's spamblocker has two settings, (three if you count off) The medium blocks what earthlink knows as spam and anything in the user's 'blocked' list. The high only lets through those in the user's address book. The fun part is there is an option to delete anything that hits the spam bucket automagically! So if your user doesn't have you in his address book, spamblocker on high, and auto-delete - he will never know you sent them anything. (in most cases the sender does get a bounce message from what I understand of the system.)
