Telaid had a product called "Tattletail" which dialid out like a modem to a Central Office which would then dispatch proper service. It would monitor Temp, Humidity, Water, and power outage with its back-up battery. Or instead, I think you could have it dial any number, like a cell phone. Then you can dial back into the Tattletale to find out what type of alarm went off. Otherwise the monitor Central Station software is more $$$.....
If you are really serious about it, this solution is used in many Back Rooms to monitor Telecomm Eqpt.
