There is a difference between how i expect my government to act and how individuals act. If caught, i expect anonymous to be prosecuted, but man-to-man i dont find what they are doing is out and out 'wrong' and would tell them so even as i lead them to their prison cell. If Westboro engaged in activities that could be legally described as vigilantism, then i would expect them to be prosecuted too. What i dont want is my GOVERNMENT to silence Westboro because then we all lose.
Wait. This is vigilantism, and while I would happily convict them if caught, I cant say they are wrong. Just as I can absolutely abhor capital punishment carried out by the state, i can also believe in repaying a personal vendetta in blood, i jsut dont expect to be let off if caught.
The problem was not that he was watching TV, but rather watch such a high motion source that it was impossible to not be distracted by it. I told him and he complied, end of story. If you wanted to escalate it to physical violence i would have had you arrested by campus security. I have every right to speak to another human being about his behavior, you have no right to assault another human.

Marijuana is highly decriminalized in CA. I can have kids smoking pot (and being very loud) right under my bedroom window at 2 am and the cops wont even come out. Ive had cops flat out tell me they just dont care anymore. And this is a good thing:)
I will, as I look at the faces of the children i see growing strong and healthy because of their father's gun and skill as a hunter. Guns can both take and GIVE life, much like anything else in the cosmos.
Change lawfully to economically. You will still be able to self-drive, but insurance will be prohibitive, and i think 20 years is a bit aggressive time frame.
And i would gladly shoot you in the face for attempting to illegally deprive me of my REPUBLIC enshrined right. The 2nd is not up for vote or debate, upon pain of death.
Most HOAs are toothless. All legal battles have to be fought in court and it gets expensive fast. Want an HOA to back down? Force them into court a lot.
What makes you think you cant also have a small and portable solar array for emergencies? Relying on infrastructure supplied fuel for an EMERGENCY generator is short term thinking.
How is it not the governments place? The ENTIRE broadcast industry is under FCC purview because of the nature of it. WE THE PEOPLE OWN those airwaves that we LEASE to companies, we can tell them whatever the hell we want, WE OWN IT.

No they are not. They are emboldened by our willingless to tolerate them becasue we love our country more then we hate them.
