    I simply don't use it unless absolutely necessary because some fool did in a linked runtime library library; but only then to identify it as foreign cruft.

    Fuck Charles Simonyi. Anyone who does use it is a shit-for-brains M$ droid. And I ALWAYS use integer variables i,j,k,and l for loop counters in the traditional Fortran way.

    newLISP is small and can easily call most c/c++ libraries, plus Java for graphics. HTML/XML are really just LISP S-expressions for all practical purposes. Throw in a little Unix/bash and you are there.

    Apple has been mucking up the Mac OS user interface ever since 10.4. Ever look at the latest version of iTunes on the Mac? It constantly flips into a stupid simplistic iPod interface where it scrolls backwards like you're dragging your finger and everything is a dead flat icon with no drill down hierarchy especially when at the iTumes Store. I hate it, the ultimate dumbing down of the Mac. Next thing you know they will be getting rid of the terminal window and console and we'll all be back to Windows 3.1.

    Relational databases are firmly defined by set theory and what is easier to understand really than Venn diagrams?

    All processes are functions and XML docs are really just S-expessions so what could be easier and simpler than using LISP (and in particular the interpreted LISP 1.x-like newLISP which can double for any scripting duties and has the ability to interface both with RDBMS's and C/C++ runtime libraries, among others?)

    C when you absolutely, positively have to and only on sections of code that need it for performance tuning ~5%.

    I make an attempt with a hodgepodge of ad on Ad Blockers - Click to Flash - Real Clear Videos etc. I suppose I could write my own comprehensive HTML cleaner but then I would spend all my time keeping it up-to-date and it would never be more than my own idiosyncratic blocker with no commercial potential.

    via the telegraph wire was invented over 150 years ago. It predates voice telephone calls. This machine adds nothing new with its plotter which was invented invented 50 years ago and was immediately hooked up to both wireless and wired transmission at the time.

    BTW, the shadow of that tree is physically impossible (and no that doesn't make it "art".)
