    Er, no. The UK uses the same system as the US (comma as a thousands seperator, decimal point to seperate "ones" and "tenths"). Most of *continental* Europe, on the other hand, does use the system you describe (reverse the comma and the point). So, in the UK, you'd write 1,249.95, while in (eg) France, you'd write 1.249,95.

    Not that it'll make up all the space, but weren't Windows 95 disks in that MS High-Density format as well, 1.68Mb (?) per floppy?

    Another good one I saw once while trying to install Linux on a PC Compatible (ahem) was something like: "Your BIOS is horribly broken, trying to wing it"

    On BBC BASIC (I think, definitely on Atari BASIC) the syntax should be 30 PRINT A$; "is a wanker!"

    (I have no idea how THAT law passed the HoL, probably bribery) It passed because the Liberal government of the time threatened (with the King's support) to flood the House of Lords with Liberal peers in order to pass a budget, after having won two successive General Elections on the basis that they would reduce the power of the Lords - back in 1911.

    But how would you be certain whether the 13th floor was the last floor the marbles could be dropped from without breaking, or the first floor at which the marbles broke?
