This has no bearing on what OS someone is running. There was no exploit mentioned in the article. If we took all the stupid users and put them on linux, the same thing could/would happen.
Granted, they'd have to go to terminal and do something like "apt-get install russian_pretend_swissbank_keylogger_um_i_mean_spyw are_software", but some people really are that dumb.
