Gee - it may not be because of some inherent corporate bias - you think!!!!
InfoWorld and Computerworld both used the phrase "Another dangerous flaw..."
ZDNet used the phrase "One of the more serious vulnerabilities..."
eWeek says "One of the worst bugs,..., can lead to system capture or the application shutting down."
I added the "..." in front of the quote to indicate that there was text preceeding the quote. Also, the whole sentence (in context) was in the original posting. In any event - did you think that I implied it was January 2008 or 2006 or.... Go back to English class!!!
I say Apple should not force us to buy OSX when we just want to purchase their "superior" hardware without an OS. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know - Apple is different! Apologies in advance....
So foulmouth - What makes an Apple computer with an Intel CPU (and all the other standard h/w) any different than a non-Apple computer? What makes it "much more"?
Except if it is the truth as seen through the hazy vision of a tried-and-true Slashdotter where nothing Microsoft-based is worth anything. Clearly, we all need to bow at the altar of Steve Jobs and/or Linux where all is rosy and good and - of course - all the time!

All is well is Apple-land!
Will you Slashdotter's stop with the MS bashing then?

So does Microsoft but you all see that as a negative!
Did you miss "...Apple did not patch a vulnerability disclosed by the January Month of Apple Bugs project."?
Blackberry could well earn about openness from the Apple IPhone seeing how it excels in that arena!
Hey SFLC - can you compute the equivalent figure for Apple-based products?
Steve Jobs is the KING of Self-Importance!!! All bow!!!!

I guess it's because Steve Jobs is only doing this for "Peace on Earth"? He doesn't profit from this I guess!
It's amazing that one of you Slashotters actually is stupid enought to attempt the clone the very piece of software you obviously depsise.
You dare to speak the truth in this forum! Shocking!! Hallelujah!!!!
Clearly - according to your logic it must be Apache since it is so prevalent! You can read the gory details at:

Can someone tell me where/how I can buy an Apple-branded computer without an Apple-supplied O/S?

The only real OS family is IBM's MVS.
Hey Mr. Know-It-All!!!! Where is the link that justifies your half-ass comment?
How dare anyone say anything on Slashdot that even appears to favor Microsoft - and even worse - at the expense of our beloved Linux! SOB SOB SOB!
ATT=Cingular=Apple. Bubble is bursting on top of the Apple goodness!
It's a good thing that Apple would never do business with AT&T!
I thought Google could do no evil!!!

C'mon you Slashdotters!!! Some more information for you to excuse away!!
Hey Apple-lovers. Why no negative press about Apple not providing any "fixes" at all for its older OS's?

Of course, my "karma" will cause this to have a score of 0 so who knows who actually see (let alone respond to) this reply.
He is like the majority here. But note that his "wisdom" and "wit" earns him a score of 1. I'll wallow in the ZERO world.
