So, even if information to the contrary from reliable sources is posted multiple times on here, it makes no difference to the Slashdotters who just need any vehicle (read that as "excuse") to spew their infantile jabberings re: Microsoft. Can anyone provide any evidence that Microsoft has any culpability here? Put up or shut up!

I think the infantile comments of the typical Slashdotters regarding Microsoft are so incredibly typical. I would doubt that the underlying O/S would be any off-the-shelf commercial or Open Source system.

Can't someone here "moderate" those immature comments? Or are only comments that point out this immaturity the ones that get "moderated"?

My point is that the constant beat of the anti-Microsoft drum while implicitly and/or explicitly blessing/ignoring/excusing (well you get the point I think) the same stuff from Apple is inexcusable. Microsoft = Apple and Apple = Microsoft. They both have their strengths and they both have their weaknesses as technologies and corporations. It's the infantile behavior of a good number (most ???) of the /.'ers when they choose to be so myopic that is infuriating.

    Interesting tidbit here:

    http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=3 2798/.

    ***
In an attempt to out-maneuver OSx86 kernel hackers, Apple has changed their APSL open-source license. Semthex, who has worked on a few of the more popular hacked kernels himself, found this passage in their new license: "This file contains Original Code and/or Modifications of Original Code as defined in and that are subject to the Apple Public Source License Version 2.0 (the 'License'). You may not use this file except in compliance with the License. The rights granted to you under the License may not be used to create, or enable the creation or redistribution of, unlawful or unlicensed copies of an Apple operating system, or to circumvent, violate, or enable the circumvention or violation of, any terms of an Apple operating system software license agreement." While the license only applies to source posted after this license modification, it will cover all sources beyond those associated with OS X 10.4.8. Another clever security change from Apple.
