It's because my mouse and keyboard are 3 feet from my computer and don't need to be wireless. The convenience of wireless is ruined by the inconvenience of batteries
Municiple utilities such as water and wastewater depend on analog lines (leased lines) to relay informaion such as levels, and to do simple switching of things on and off remotely. This obviously can be done over internet or cell connections, but there are hundreds of thousands of these connections across the country that would need to be replaced. If we were given a deadline of 5 years, it couldn't be done. And it will be a costly switch in hardware. Though lately the cell and internet solutions are cheaper monthly bills.
problem with claims like this is that you can get incredible mileage from the FIRST gallon of gas, or the first 100 miles because you can fully charge the battery from a external source. once the "hybrid" part takes over, you are back to the regular 45mpg. the speed of the car and the elevation changes greatly influence the MPG claims also. electric cars do not get great gas mileage at highway speeds because of the power required to keep the car at 60+mph.
