  1. Hosed by Duadup...and lusers. on 1 In 3 Windows PCs Still Vulnerable To Worm Attack · · Score: 1

Just got this nasty lil bastard off a clients' Win 2003 SBS. Idiot disabled Kaspersky and SpyBot on his laptop 'cause "It was slowing down my MP3 downloads at home.", and plugged into the LAN, thence instantly infecting the server, which hasn't been patched since 12/23/08. I intend to stagger through the office after lunch, screaming "CENTOS on the server this weekend, and XUBUNTU on ALL laptops by Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Mweep

  3. Re:Constitutionality on Sex Offenders Must Hand Over Online Passwords · · Score: 1

I am so freaking sick of allowing these half-wit, reactionary asswipes to run roughshod over every constitutional right that generations have fought to secure. A well-connected, loudmouth twit like John Walsh, and his butt-buddy Ernest Allen can bully legislators into using hot-button issues to pass their own conservative agendas. Adam Walsh was killed..that's sad, but other kids get killed in far more horrendous ways in African dictatorships every day. Who mourns for them? Who starts a top-rated TV series for those children? Let's hope Obama has the balls to try to restore some of our civil liberties these morons are destroying day-by-day. Mweep

  4. EduNazis and other swine... on What Restrictions Should Student Laptops Have? · · Score: 1

Secure OS/X???...BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Any reasonably intelligent HS sophomore with a familiarity with FreeBSD, and a Mac install disc could gut any security restrictions in a New York minute...and a truly intelligent one could cover his tracks! Just give the kids the damn laptops, sit back, shut up, and let them learn.

  5. Re:Great work! on Slackware 12.2 Released · · Score: 1

Screw this flame...Pat Volkerding created a helluva distro, thats still being used today by those of us with the balls to say "Screw X"! Its more Berkeley-like .rc layout, cpio-inspired package installer, and easy compile features make it, along with Free/Net/OpenBSD, and possibly Solaris, the choice of true UNIX jocks everywhere...Debian used to be in my list, too, but they, along with SuSe and Fedora, have caved in to the whining, puling wanna-bes who are afraid to get their hands wet with bash or zsh, and hang to the GUI like a baby to it's mommys breast.

  6. human/vet antibiotic quandry on Objections Over Antibiotic Approved for Use in Cattle · · Score: 1

I've often wondered if we shouldn't totally restrict trans-species use of some antibiotics. What the hell do cattle need with flouroquinolones or cephalosporins, except to artificially reduce death rates and inflate weight gain. I'd far rather some pet croak, than a human die from an organism made resistant from indiscriminate use of a medically indispensable broad-spectrum agent.
