Not the same thing, IMHO. There's no way to design a system that will meet "the average user's" needs in all cases and leave out everything that user doesn't use--because everyone uses different things! There's always the option of a custom preinstalled system, where the user can give the installer an idea of what they want to do and the installer can pick the packages, but otherwise--sorry, folks, you gotta actually look at what you're installing!
I've thought about doing this. What I wasn't sure of is whether the US would allow me to obtain an Irish passport without losing American citizenship (my grandfather is from Ireland and--hearsay, correct me if I'm wrong--that can get me Irish citizenship). Anyone know the answer?
Ok...I'll bite at the ol' flamebait, hoping that's all it is and that you're not serious...
First:
"its worship of saints and the virgin whore"
We don't worship the saints or the Virgin Mary, and where is this "whore" stuff coming from?
Second:
"Like heathens, the Catholics are all going to Hell"
Says who, you? I'm kinda hoping that when judgement day comes you're not the one doing the judging--and have no reason to think otherwise except for your post!
Ok, enough with the numbering--the part about the living by the Ten Commandments is true enough, but people living in a religious society are just as likely to break them as the rest of us, since we're all human.
Good point about shooting people in the name of whatever, though--some jerk saying he's killing for God doesn't make it God's fault.
Church of Emacs?! Ummm, anyway... Being put on probation, while a lot better than serving prison time, is still part of his sentence. He was given a deal, since he's not a violent criminal. But people on probation are not meant to have the same rights as everyone else as long as they're still serving that part of their sentence. After his time's up, he can work on computers and benefit society all he wants--and he absolutely has a lot to offer. Till then (especially since he doesn't seem to think he did anything wrong) he's got to serve his time.
Who's the Anonymous Coward who hates "distro?" These comments are all over the place! If you're going to be annoying, at least put your name on what you say.
That's great news--my boxed set is due to arrive today or tomorrow via UPS, and as far as I knew the newest kernel on the CD was 2.2.1. Looking forward to installing it!
No, they used what is in the archive. Although the 2.0.38 is the "standard" kernel that is installed with the current boot floppies, the Slink archive goes up to kernel version 2.2.1, and Potato goes all the way up to the current version, 2.2.13--not counting any of the unstable kernels, which I'm not an advanced-enough user to pay attention to.:-)

That may be 'cause Catholicism is farther to the left than the Pat Robertson crowd.
Nope, never seen it before, at least in NJ :)
Better check the archive--the prerelease for 2.2.15 is already in potato.

You can cast a write-in vote. I voted for my grandmother for President in 1996.

Yeah, what a cretin. He only gave a link to a bunch of tools for the guy to check out along with a ton of other information. How stupid, how cruel.
