One problem. They are picking and choosing a handful of posts from hundreds and claiming the handful to be representative of the "attitude of the community". Of course for all we know, the posts they "hand picked" were posts they also planted either themselves, or by someone paid by the company.
A DVD player was high on my list of things to buy, but if this case goes the way of the DVD MPA, I am never ever going to buy a DVD player. Of course, I think that the decision left a lot of room for the EFF to still win this case. The judge has clearly not closed his mind to the outcome. He has stated that the temporary injunction was granted because there is no financial harm to the defendant (which is true) and there is a great deal of potential financial harm to the plantiff (not actually true, but I can understand why he might think so). It is also very possible that his oppinion was swayed by the fact that a Federal judge recently issued a restraining order in a very similar case.
I'm not exactly sure what Teletext is, but if it's the same thing that we call Closed Captioning, then every TV which I have seen in the last several years has had it included.
Actually, I think you are thinking of Willamette, which is still not supposed to be released until some time next year. Coppermine (the one just released) was slated to release almost a month ago, and the i820 chipset which was supposed to go with it is bugged, and noone knows when it will be released. This was not a new core, just a shrink of P6 to.18 micron, and I doubt Intel has something better than.18 ready for manufacturing, because if they did, you could bet IBM, Mot, and AMD would all have them ramped up for production. So, the long and short of it is that Intel did not do anything special here, in fact they are late, and they are still behind Athlon on performance (especially FP performance), so I don't think they are holding anything back.

No translator, there is a full x86 core on die for running x86 programs. It will, however, run more slowly than a dedicated x86 processor.
