This is a perfect example of the badness of VB: ...and have the mentality BASIC = BAD.
Which is it? BASIC assigned-the-value BAD or BASIC is-equal-to BAD?
When you move on from VB to a new programming language, you find that it does matter.
Example:
if(BASIC = BAD) {
cout << "Remember kids: BASIC is always BAD!";
}
The assignment always evaluates to true when you code in C/C++.
OTOH, I have no specific grudge against VB as I've only touched it superficially. I just don't care much for the syntax.

WinDOS, you can't live with it, and you can live without it.
I would think that in (almost) all cases where a leading caracter is killed off, it is because their contract has run out. It is just a fact of (TV production) life.
OTOH, I remember watching the episode where she was killed and I didn't think for a minute that she wouldn't come out alive. When she finally died I realized that it was quite a dramatic end for this caracter (even though the black ooze was rather ridiculous). It certainly didn't harm the overall atmosphere of the series.
PDF is just PostScript with hyperlinks, as far as I know. Both were conceived at Adobe.

...believe it or not.
They sell servers with a SourceForge environment preinstalled. This is very useful for corporations in managing internal projects.
That meant that the people working on SourceForge were not affected by the recent VA Linux layoffs.
According to this Salon article at least.
There are also other webbased collaboration sites, such as collab.net, mentioned in the article.

As others have mentioned, AOL is not a good name in China since it has 'America' in it (what with the spy plane and all).
