Before Intel's marketing guys got hold of it, the byte order in a mainframe or a Motorola CPU was known as "normal", as the bytes are in the order people usually think of them - Most Significant first. The Intel one was known as "Byte Swapped".
I can never remember which end of my egg I should eat first, so avoid Intel's terms.
In their favour, I think byteswapped actually works better - it's just not what most people do.
