You do know that in Windows you can type a URL without opening a browser first, and it opens a browser, yes? So, yes, there is a generic browser request. :-)

The EU is good at waiting for something bad to happen to a global company (primarily US-based) and then getting on the badwagon to cash in. Facts don't mean much when that much cash is on the line.

  3. Re:Well... on US Near Bottom In Life Expectancy In Developed World · · Score: -1

More realistically - Obama was re-elected because people still believe 'change' is what he wants, and wanted. Not sure who said it earlier, but Obama isn't changing anything that he said he would in any major positive manner. 50% were just fools enough to continue to believe he ever meant to. The other (less than) 50% were fools enough to believe replacing Obama would make a difference and take things back to the way they were (and I shudder to think about what they thought that means). The tiny, tiny percent who tried to buck 'the system' were the only ones truly looking for change. But the rest of the world doesn't want that change, either. They aren't ready for the US to recover its old swagger and power - they want it to continue to decline, mistakenly thinking they might be the ones who benfit from it. At least until they see who steps up next over the next 50 years if the US doesn't complete its decline into mediocrity.

A tattoo is a very simple thing to understand and apply. It must mean something to *you*. No one else, and for no other reason. Anyone telling you if you should or shouldn't, or what to get (or not get) needs to mind their own business. Your body, your story. Tell it how you want.

I'd buy into it all if you just said "I am cheap and don't want to pay for it." That's all it really is...the rest is just noise. It's called Piracy, not Justifiable Criminal Activity.

  6. Why for IE? on Why are Websites Still Forcing People to Use IE? · · Score: 0

Same reasons that car dealers market as they do, or any other type of selling good does. You sell to the masses. I don't care if it is 95% IE out there, or 75% IE...they are the masses. Whether you think they are stupid or not, makes no difference. Be as mad as you want, it's still the market share leader. Period. End of reason.

You are obviously an idiot. "I don't want to wait, so stealing is okay" is not an excuse for it. Hell, I don't want to wait for my million dollars I am going to make, so I will steal it from the bank. I'll make that much over my lifetime anyway, right? Idiot.

  8. Wonderful Ideas on Geo-Engineering to stop Climate Change · · Score: 1

Everyone is full of such great ideas. Where are you bastards when politicians are in town, stumping for votes, and holding open-forum, or town-hall meetings? Where are you with these questions to them when it can be shown to everyone that they haven't even thought about it and are just looking for what is more popular right now, to get elected? Oh, that's right...you're pissing and moaning on /.
