  1. the current? on Al Gore Invents Internet TV · · Score: 1

I guess Al's research capabilities aren't that great. There is a CBC http://cbc.ca/ radio show called "The Current" http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/ that has been doing what he is talking about for a long time.
Except the inane google search voyerism. Those are bound to be rife with quality crap. How about we slashdot goolge during a show and search for "golfing in alaska"

  3. Katz dead :( on Phillip W. Katz, Creator Of PKZIP, Dead At 37 · · Score: 1

Reminds me of the story of Alan Turing's life. Strange how grreat thinkers often have so much trouble managing their lives. I wonder sometimes if ignorance really is bliss. Either way, hats off to a true trailblazer.
Ps. Wonder if we could get the reply form to function like vi?

  4. Net Regs Suck on The Internet-Have We Reached A Turning Point? · · Score: 1

It used to be that the net was controlled by academics and philanthopists like Tim Berners-Lee (The creator of http.) Netziens must unite to keep the internet free and clear of corporate/government control. We must prevent the bastardization of a free net into an ad-net. True, the net will evolve, but if you lose control, the corporations will exploit.

  5. Re:first post on Yet Another Amazon Patent · · Score: 1

I think I'll patent the name Jeff Bezos. Then I'll sue him for using his name to own amazon.com then I'll patent thinking and sue everyone .. hahahah!! Just about everything amazon.com ever did was done before them. (programming wise for sure) It's unfortunate that they are going to force groups that are already struggling to keep the web free to fight legal battles against them. We should start a fund to help battle their rediculous assertions.
