For OOXML to be a standard it should not go through the fast track method. It should have been the slow 2 - 5 year way for all of the ahem "backwards compatible/forwards compatible" to be ironed out. Then and only then could it look something like a standard and not controlled by one company. For the time being now you should probably stick with ODF.

Aww you stoled my line. lol. But in all seriousness Microsoft is really desperate because they know what is coming into the near future. Open standards that don't involve anything from Microsoft.

Hahaha Microsfot is blaming someone else for there troubles. They should just help improve ODF to fit what they want and have it in an open manner. But that won't happen till hell freezes over.

Umm hell no I am not trying to be cool. I was a Gnome user after the first five minutes of using it and figured out that is was not good after the first five minutes. Its too dumb and windows like with hiding almost everything from the user. I have been using KDE since the 3.0 release cause it doesn't try to be so simple it hides the things users want. Linus is right KDE is better. Gnome is was started by a failed Microsoft potential employed who so far has been copying Microsfot for evey move and have the same results as software goes. That is my two cents.

BSD code rocks at the documentation but it suck with contribution back to the community. They basically just give their code away freely without any care that it will go in a open source program or closed source. The GPL is the best way to go IMHO.
