I have a project on the go at the moment, building a PC into my coffee table. It started off from a conversation with some half-geeks about that it would be handy to have imdb.com when watching movies. From there (and a lack of DVD player) meant that I was to build the fore-mentioned contraption.
Anyway I'm currently waiting on a hydrolic lift from a Horn Sewing Cabinet to me sent to me from the manufacturer so I can have an optional pop-up monitor for those times when it would be annoying to read an email when everyone else in the room is waiting to see who the final Survivor is.
By the way most desktop PC sound cards suck.(yes even for basic sound throughput) If your gonna do this then go with a quality Stereo System instead.
Lets see who can we sue ISP's for letting people transmit Harddrive Manufacturers for creating a tool to store mp3's Processor Chip makers for creating a means to copy mp3's Software Writers, MPEG ppls, who? They have all contributed in some way to the proliferation of illegal mp3's. It should be all or nothing for the RIAA. They are a stupid bunch of capitialist pigs who don't even realise what they are trying to sue. Don't get me started on DVD's sueing someone in another country using the DMCA law. C'Mon work with technology not against it.
People may abuse NSI for stuff ups in Domain Name Allocation but we Australians have a person to abuse. Robert Elz has in the past made up Domain Name rules whenever he felt like it and enforced them whenever he felt like it. Example a company called Reveal Software applied for the domain reveal.com.au. They were told they could not have it because the domain reveal.com was already taken. And nowhere on the site did it have this rule explained. He also had the rule that you could not register common words, but has allowed gold.com.au and news.com.au (Rupert Murdoch owns that one). Maybe he's upset that now it's a corporation he can dictate naming policies the way he wants to.
More to the point, A modern government funded TV station has the transcripts available online. Which means the 8 cents a day of my taxes that goes toward this TV station paid for their website so you can thank me or any other Australian for it. Mind you just because its government funded doesn't mean its the governments spokesperson. The most anti-government opinions are aired on this network.
This movie was on a couple of months ago here in Australia. It's crap but then again most made-for-TV movies are. What surprises me is that we got to see it before it was on US TV. Normally its the other way around. Maybe because we'll get hit before America if anything goes wrong on New Years Day.
How about using a real database to handle a business app instead of Access. Just because their is an ODBC driver for it doesn't mean its gonna be robust enough for e-commerce use. Upgrade to whatever DB Server product you want. Chances are its going to perform better than Access.
Also learn SQL you'll soon see that importing data from any ODBC compliant DB is either simple or logical or both. If you don't want to then install MSSQL on your NT boxes and run the Access Upgrade wizard to import the data into new tables.
Hire a NT Administrator. I work on both Linux and NT Servers and I can make a Linux Server as unstable as most NT Servers. Remember most people who call NT unstable do not know fully how to configure and maintain a NT Server. To make matters worse their are also many NT Administrators who don't know how to properly manage a NT Server. It sounds like your NT Administrators fall under the latter catagory.
