I think I'll keep my Windows computers with updates disabled, as all the updates have been detrimental to the user, lately.

The concept of free speech is far bigger than the constitution of the USA. People outside of the USA cherish it just as much as you, and many are still dying exercising or protecting free speech. Twitter may have legal rights to engage in selective censorship, but that does not make it right.

  5. There are many valid arguments against nuclear, but this isn't one of the stronger ones.

Actually, there aren't. On average, nuclear reactors are extremely clean and safe. Far, FAR safer than coal plants, and way more environment-friendly. In fact, nuclear plants are more environment-friendly than hydroplants.

So some how she is being fed information she can't or won't share with the rest of us. Yet we are supposed to trust her and vote for her. Screw that. She is the ultimate insider. People always accused the GOP of solving things in the back room while the old men smoke cigars. Maybe there is truth in that maybe not. What is clear is that HRC is very much a part of that old boys club, no matter what she has between her legs.

She can't be trusted, full stop. A vote for Hillary is a vote against your interests because the only interests Hillary has is in what is good for her.

I agree - as I said to another parallel poster, I used the terms in the article as I assumed they are more commonly used. In fact, I disagree with pro-Arab as well - Al Jazeera is pro-Sunni Islamic. The Arab ethnicity has only coincidental connections with that particular flavor of Islam. One of my colleagues is Arab, but he's not Muslim (not Christian either, BTW).

The law was stupid, there's no doubt about that, but every country in the world has some stupid rules. The reason why most people in the US don't care isn't because they agree with it, but simply that it doesn't affect them - when your school is 30 miles away, you have to take a car or a bus, and so it wouldn't really appear in their daily life.

Jesus FUCK! As a European, I find living 30 miles from the school your kids go to be totally batshit crazy.

I suspect that you're seeing history through rose-tinted glasses. There were plenty of pop-acts in every era that Bowie overlapped with, we simply don't remember many of them.

Which is why we remember Bowie.

I wonder if anyone 30 years from now will remember Beyonce. We are officially in a worse period of music than disco.

Look, I am a lifelong classical music snob, and like a lot of jazz as well (especially the more modern jazz pianists and the new Japanese jazzists)... but I think also that disco was at least OK.
