I was not the one who posted, but I will put my name behind it. I am sorry that the original author is not putting a name behind his (or her) beliefs. I too believe that there is one true God; and He exists in three persons: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Over 2 million people came to Rome in late August this year to celebrate World Youth Day 2000! This is an unbelievable number of people celebrating their faith. As Pope John Paul II said, in the past, when large groups of young people came together, it was for war. Now, so many young persons have come together to celebrate peace and faith in Christ.
The Holy Spirit was with us that week, and all of us were moved deeply by the experience. I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour, and hope that all who profess the same have live more fully in him and experience the love of Christ.
The way I understand it is that Jesus didn't even realize that he was the Son of Man until we was about 30. Mary, his mother, asked him to perform his first miracle at the wedding, where he turned water into wine. This is when his "career" started. He was a "normal" person for most his life. He learned the trade of carpenter from Joseph, and worked at that before entering public life.
Just to back this up a bit, as a Catholic geek studying computer science at the University of Notre Dame, I know quite a few Catholic geeks. Of course, we may have a slightly higher concentration here due to the religious affiliation of our school.
What also is disturbing is that the judge seems to want to comepletely shoot down everything the defendants are trying to use to their defense. i.e)
They contend that DeCSS is necessary to achieve interoperability between computers running on the Linux system and DVDs and that this exception therefore is satisfied.20 This contention fails for three reasons.

First, defendants have offered no evidence to support this assertion.
Second, even assuming that DeCSS runs under Linux, it concededly runs under Windows---a far more widely used operating system---as well. It therefore cannot reasonably be said that DeCSS was developed "for the sole purpose'' of achieving interoperability between Linux and DVDs.
Finally, and most important, the legislative history makes it abundantly clear that Section 1201(f) permits reverse engineering of copyrighted computer programs only and does not authorize circumvention of technological systems that control access to other copyrighted works, such as movies.21 In consequence, the reverse engineering exception does not apply.
--------------------------------------- My rebuttal (kinda): 1) Since when are defendants guilty until proven innocent. 2) So now programs that can compile under 2 operating systems change the intended purpose of software. 3) This one is a complete judgement call. The judge is calling this by HIS interpretation of the law. Others (obviously) interpret it differently...
Can we get a technologically inclined lawyer in here?
I'm not saying we'll find intelligent life in our own solar system, but it would be nice to try and find some life on a planet or moon that might be more capable of sustaining life than Mars?
So in other words, we haven't found intelligent life on earth either.
If you consider the leading zeros then it puts more emphasis on the month of november, the only completely odd month. In this fashion, there are only five completely odd days in an "odd" year: 11-11-xxxx, 11-13-xxxx, 11-15-xxxx, 11-17-xxxx, and 11-19-xxxx. (where xxxx is 4 odd numbers) Makes those five days seem a little more special, huh?
If you could do that, it'd be appreciated. http://technocrat.net:80/ArticleImages/LiVid.tgz is now refusing connections. Another mirror would be great. I can post them if I can get ahold of the files. I was trying to d/l them, but got cut off by technocrat.net Thanks!

Just my 2 cents.
