Now I know I didn't read TFA, but how does the RIAA/MPAA fit into this story? Are they suing the microbes for copyright infringement as well?? Heartless bastards.

"Venous system" definitely isn't the right worm :)

But I guess in this case worm = word + term, so, close enough!

TXT doesn't HAVE to be about DRM and selling your computer's soul to the big corporations. TrouSerS is a FOSS implementation of the trusted software stack. There are legitimate uses for trusted computing aside from DRM enforcement.

But I agree that there is probably is very little need for a typical user to be running TXT on their machine; I definitely don't trust MS/MPAA/etc not to abuse the technology

I blame Microsoft's own media department for branding computer users as nerds. All you have to do is look at ANY of the "Windows 7 was my idea", or "I'm a PC" commercials. I mean c'mon, curly-haired guy with thick glasses thinking about ways to make Windows better while he's in the shower, then calling his mom to tell her about it?! Or "spontaneously" breaking into a (un)coordinated dance at the retail store?

And of course lets not forget the nightmare-inducing Windows 7 release party instructional video...
