To state that Vista will fail to install on a computer with greater than 2Gig of RAM is grossly exagerated. You would need to satisfy all three conditions listed below to hit this bug.
The computer uses more than 3 GB of RAM.
The computer uses a storage system that is running the Storport miniport driver.
The computer uses a controller that uses 32-bit direct memory access (DMA).
This is a great thread to place side by side with a Windows counterpart. Why is it when a story is released about Windows choking on a upgrade it's always:
"Bills an idiot"
"Windows sucks"
"BSOD Ahah ahaa h"
"Some long drawn out story about Windows has been doing this for ages"

I'm surprised the article states the '2003' date because it seems I'm always reading up on a new sendmail exploit in Linux Journal. This is one that apparently got much attention.

I don't doubt the article necessarily but I find it odd that exploits like the one I'm linking to are not considered critical enough to be included in the 2003 assesment.
It continues to astonish me that we as a society continue to make the same mistakes. You would think at this day and age basic 'social engineering' would no longer work.
I am. What our leaders do in our name is utterly insane. If I could change a single political concept here in America, it would be to remove the desire to control other countries. If we ever lose our monopoly of military power were going to be so screwed by every country we ever bullied.

What I'm gathering from the KB article is that a user needs to set one or more reg keys to reenable the older file formats.
goes unpunished.

If you want to talk easy money think Sendmail.
