  1. MS on Amusing Anecdotes in the Apple domain battle. · · Score: 1

Why should this surprise you? Apple has this image of being the peoples computer company, but it's a sham. They are the most proprietary of anybody in the OS game. They are the only major computer company that requires you to buy their hardware if you want to run their OS. They are ten times worse than MS when it comes to the crap that they pull. The world woudl be a much worse place if Apple had the pull that MS has now.

  2. ?? on Mr. T vs. Halflife · · Score: 1

It's really sad seeing people defending so adamantly a position that is so wrong.

  3. This is not funny at all... on Mr. T vs. Halflife · · Score: 1

This is Very tasteless considering Mr. T's recent untimely demise. He may have played some laughable characters on TV and in the movies, but couldn't you all have the decency to at least let his body rest for a month before lashing out with this juvenile humor? Have you no sympathy for his family? His loved ones?!? I've seen some crude stuff on Slashdot in the past but this takes the cake. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

  4. M$ 4ever on Ask Slashdot: How Powerful is Your Computer? · · Score: 1

So what? We're grateful that they built the PC market. Now they can get the hell out of the way for a really good OS.

At the time MS-DOS was the best. Its recent iterations are not the best, not even close. Their time over, and I think they've been more than compensated for their efforts.

He did it again. His latest book is a doom and gloom Y2K book. Heard all about it on Art Bell, your quintessential fountain of paranoid delusional ramblings.

  6. Ego gone wild? on A Bit About Freshmeat · · Score: 1

The way you post, it seems that you think that Scoop has an obligation to us. Well, he doesn't. Not one iota. I think that a little gratitude is in order. I think that he could shut his site down for good and would be well within th rules of this "pretty unbalanced game". There is no game, man. Scoop does all the work, and we are obliged to him. That's the deal. We don't have any power or say in how his site is run because we don't do jack shit. If you want to make the rules, start your own site.

Being unappreciated is one of the crappiest feelings in the world. Do you even know how difficult, or expensive it is to maintain a personal site? I'm not talking about a geocities POS site, I'm talking about a commercial site with no transfer limits and lots of room. It's an investment. And he's doing this for free. He owes us nothing. We owe him everthing. I think that deserves respect. If you feel betrayed, don't use his site and you are absolved of all responsibility to respect Scoop. Fair enough?
