Well, the unique thing about biodiesel is that you don't actually need to use fresh crops; you can actually use waste vegeteble oil:

As of 2000, the United States was producing in excess of 11 billion liters of waste vegetable oil annually, mainly from industrial deep fryers in potato processing plants, snack food factories and fast food restaurants. If all those 11 billion liters could be collected and used to replace the energetically equivalent amount of petroleum (a rather utopian case), almost 1% of US oil consumption could be offset.[citation needed] However, usage of waste vegetable oil as a fuel competes with already established usages. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_vegetable_oil#W aste_vegetable_oil

On the surface, it seems like they're going down, and we may see an end to thier lawsuits

Or, it might be a set-up for a massive media parade.
They might continue the trend, but hold back evidence on purpose in a few cases. Then, BAM! hit back-to-back victories with careful planning, along with some careful media orchestration (particularly if you throw in words like "Prejudice" or "mistrial"), it could quickly sway public opinion back in thier favour.
Certainly, most /. er's would see through this quite easily, but your average joe isn't as well informed. A good dose of media hype might earn them some political and legal victories they need to tighten thier grip.

However, I sincerely hope that this isn't the case.

but almost certainly lose the war.
I'm a college student learning computer systems, and we get some nasty first-day contracts.
For instance, in one class I'm in, we get all of our tests online from Cisco. They make us sign a contract from day one saying that all work submitted to them instantly becomes thier property. We don't even get a chance to see them marked. If we ask the system where we went wrong, we get a list of pages from the textbook highlighted.

Furthermore, our Professors cannot pass us or even reveal our grades if we haven't done thier online survey after the exam.

  6. Will this help? on Higher Pay for Math and Science Teachers · · Score: 1

One has to wonder if this will be an effective method of attracting not only more Science and Math teachers, but the right kind of Science/Math Teachers. Increasing the amount of money could improve the number of teachers available, but has the potential to simply increase the number of bottom feeders who simply take the jobs to make more money. Of course, one could attempt to place filters on this type of money in hopes of attracting better teachers, but then we must ask ourselves one question: Do we want a large number of teachers, regardless of thier quality, or a smaller number of teachers of a certain quality?
