  1. One thing that is lost is longevity on Kodak Kills Kodachrome · · Score: 2, Informative

There is nothing just like Kodachrome. It has virtually no grain and last almost forever. Certainly longer than Ektachrome.
For anyone who worked with film it is a sad day.

By the way if you want archival quality photos by far the best is black and white film developed and printed. If it is properly
washed and stored, short of burning, it will last forever.

See the most recent New England Journal of Medicine. It has a brief case report of this. Also a couple of similiar cases.

  3. artificial womb on Lab Develops Artificial Womb · · Score: 1

There is something fishy with this story. Normal procedure would be to do this with animal studies first. I would wonder about the authenticity of the report.

  4. genetic test is not good or bad on US Sues Over Genetic Testing for Insurance Claims · · Score: 1

genetic testing is a tool that gives us information. What we do with that information is what is good or bad, wise or dumb. If it can be determined that a person has an increased susceptibility to a health problem and something can be done about it fine and good. E.g. to keep him out of a dangerous work environment. If it is used to prevent him getting any work or excluding him from health insurance that would be bad.

  5. Re:Impressive on Microsoft and Cisco Don't Pay Taxes? · · Score: 1

Taxing corporations is the classic way to disguise taxes to the individual--which is why liberals like it so much. Guess what fellows. Corporations have to make money or they go out of business. If they have to pay taxes they will just raise the cost to the consumer to balance what they have to pay. So you think the government is taxing someone else and you are happy and they get the money to spend. But you end up paying in the end. There is no free lunch.
