Your judgement is your own tablet from the mountaintop. Keep it real.
Fifteen people were killed and another 176 were injured in the worst accident in Amtrak's history. Partnership For A Drug-Free America aired millions of dollars worth of free radio spots which proclaimed: "They say marijuana doesn't kill, but I lost my wife and two children in a train accident caused by marijuana."
It was all a hoax. Dr. Delbert J. Lacefield, chief of the Federal Aviation Administration's forensic toxicology unit, later admitted to falsifying blood test results in the Amtrak-Conrail crash, as well as numerous other crashes. Lacefield's claims that THC had been found in blood samples taken from railway employees were exposed as fraudulent in court. Court records show that Lacefield never even performed the laboratory analysis required to detect THC. No one was ever found guilty of using pot and there is no evidence that pot is related to any increase in railway accidents. Since drug testing was instituted, as a federal response to the alleged use of pot in the Amtrak crash, there has been no decline in railway accidents. The engineer accused of smoking pot was, in fact, drunk and had been convicted of driving under the influence a few months earlier.
You are using this to simply exploit Apple. You do very little from what I see to advocate other operating systems. You rely on the common rallying call of opensource to bolster your crippled argument.. how convenient.. You have given little to Apple.. but pumped up your ego by zealously rallying against them.
correlation != causation. your argument is laughably weak.
a far more reasonable conclusion would be to identify the effect cultural bias on peoples' set of perceived risks and benefits. at least you'd maintain a whit of intellectual honesty that way.
a similar argument:
A disproportionately low number PhDs and Nobel laureates rent their homes. A disproportionately high number of high school dropouts and criminals rent their homes.
Conclusions: 1. stupid people rent their homes. 2. renting makes you stupid.

All 'New World' Macs have the old hardware ROM in RAM (loaded from 'MacOS ROM' file in system folder at boot time).
So the ROM is not 'slowly being moved into a system file which gets loaded into RAM.' It happened very quickly. All new Macs since the iMac and Blue & White G3s do this in MacOS 8.5 and up.
Also, given that Mac OS X boots on x86 already, I'd say most of the difficulties of hardware/software dependency are already in the past. Now it's just a matter of writing any new drivers cleanly.
You slam "these scientists" for thinking "too small," yet here you are making a world of half-witted judgements. But the irony is likely lost on you.
"START" reads "the first observable event"; "END" reads "the last observable event."
There are no assumptions about what comes "before" and "after," or what this even means in a human sense. It is undefined because we cannot (yet) know. This is very different from START being the absolute beginning of all things.
Physicists are (surprisingly?) flexible about the nature of the universe..

Not true. Apple's party line doesn't mean Darwin isn't going to x86. Remember, open source?
BTW, Darwin compiles on x86 today. Runs is a different matter.
