My Matrox G400 seems to work fine under XF4. However, I've had a few problems trying to do advanced things like setting up dri and agp. I don't even know if it is using dri or not right now since the debian packages make things a little easier.
I used to use mozilla as my primary browser but now i don't. I find
that i'm more productive using a console browser that lets me use the
mouse. i use w3m in a krxvt. however, i usually only look at places
like fm,/., and usually text pages. but if i ever want to open an
image, i can just click on it and press I. I still use mozilla some,
but it's only for special cases;)
MGS1 has anti-nuke and anti-war in it also, but it mainly focused on
giving information about it rather than saying it was a horrible
thing. And, the plot would be around anti-war, etc. so it has a plot
of course.
yeah.. they always tell you that the latest cvs is blazing
fast.. whatever.. i use it and i don't think it is that great. it is
also sooooo buggy... i don't think they really need testers to report
back--they just need to launch their browser and fool around with it
for a little while to see a crash.. and a web browser is so easy to
test because you don't lose much when it crashes.
but i made the mistake of making a mta. no one wants to put their mail
on the line to try something new like that. i don't think i have any
other programs i want right now, so nothing else to make...
An individual developer like me does not have the resources to test
software like a commercial company would. I think one of the reasons
free software quality is lacking is because it depends on the users to
give feedback and quality control help by emailing the developer about
problems. However, I think that this rarely happens and developers
don't get enough feedback or motivation to build to best program out
there. Until we have users that demand quality and are willing to
talk to the developer about the problems they have, I don't see free
software getting any better.
I think in this case the maintainer of the open relay server should also be punished. it would be an interesting precident.
In the case where a kid takes a gun from someone, and then uses the gun to kill someone, the person that let the kid get the gun also in the past has faced some charges.
I think it applies here also---the people that maintained this spam sending facility should be at least fined for allowing it to get into the wrong hands.
Am I the only one here that never debugs my programs after they `work' for me? I run my programs and play around with them but I never try to debug unless something isn't working properly... Do you think it could be because common lisp and other higher level interpreted languages can help solve some of these problems?
Is this like suing clothing stores and grocery stores for having cameras that look at me and track were i go? it is on their property of course though..
pressure = force / area
if area is.005 m^2 (duller) instead of.001 m^2 (sharper) you are going to get a smaller pressure. so you want a sharp blade for more pressure. it is harder to stab someone with a spoon for example because there is so much area of application so little pressure to break the skin.
i heard that someone on ebay was auctioning off the president's seat but ebay removed it after it reached some absurd price. it'd be nice if someone had a link to a story on it (if there is one) because all i did was hear it on the radio today.
i wonder if slashdot has ever asked an author permission to mirror a website while it is on/. so people can actually view the article instead of trying to comment one something they can't view...
well i was lucky enough this time to see it. the lightsabres are the yellow and red legos that are like those straight antennas... i don't know much about legos, but the trees and scenery this guy created was pretty good looking. luke in one screen was a yellow lego man with a yellow shirt on and a white circle in the center(?). sometimes he had brown hair on his head.. well that's about all i saw.

productivity apps? i think linux has better editors, compilers, and probably a better TeX enviroment than windows. what other productivity apps do you need?
well the problem with the colon is that you have to press shift to type it, and then let go because numbers have to be typed without shift. there is also no colon on the number pad... well, i think most of us will just have to worry about typing in names so i don't think it will be bad..
what would you recommend for someone that wants a static ip with a name and the ability to run any type of server if necessary.. i.e. mail, http, etc? right now i have cable, it is fast enough.. but i'm not allowed to run any servers which really sucks! i was thinking about dsl but i don't know if it would be worth it for the money... thanks.
i recommend that you try posting this question on borlands newsgroups. many people are there and even people that work for borland and helpers called TeamB. i think it is either news://news.borland.com or news://forums.inprise.com. if you don't have a newsreader, you can get pan from superpimp.org or use gnus from emacs.
you might also want to try amaya because i think w3c makes it and they also make the html spec. i think it is slim and compliant with the standards they made, but it doesn't display pages well at all if they aren't "perfect".
i don't know if you can call it impressive bandwidth if you have to use a modem upstream... the link given by the other person said that 128kbps was like $150 a month, and then next step after that was like $500 or something, so compared to cable or dsl it wouldn't be worth it. also i would think satilite hardware would be a pain opposed to using cable line or phone line, etc..

I think mozilla has already heard it enough...

I just hope, for the sake of people who don't know any better than to use non-free software, that it doesn't turn out like this.

One day i was doing research in our high school library and ...well i was searching on google, and they filtered cached pages...
but i didn't really feel like trying to get past it because i don't care about seeing history information.

Is anyone here going to dispute the fact that when you hear the word Guiness, you don't think of a dark lager?
yes, i thought of world records when i first saw it and i never knew there was a beer named that. but i don't drink beer so it's sort of expected.

no you were fooled. that was an impostor... look at the 'r': c a r r n a c k
also by turning it off, you stop the windows from popping up if you know what i mean ;)
