If he had mentioned their pathetic god, then they would have come out with the 3rd commandment - "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain"
Actually, both on Android and on Windows it is the user's fault, and I'm no Windows apologist. It's as much user's fault as falling for a phishing email or "Your drive is infected. Check for viruses now." banner. It's like complaining that you get an STD after having sex with all your town's sluts... or downloading cracked software.
When a security hole is exploited, then it'll be Windows and Android to blame. Social engineering is still the biggest threat.
Why would your mom take the trouble of allowing third party stores enabled and be perplexed by this notification?
My phone shows a big notification saying: Services that cost you money - Directly call phone numbers and send SMS messages.
That usually results in my mother calling me for clarification... You see, people don't take lightly any sentences that have cost + money in them. The ones that do, are soon left penniless.
Lower user base is still lower addressable user base. Selling apps is a dead end business, regardless of platform.
Considering, that Google doesn't actually need to support the same infrastructure are Apple, I'd say Android Market is viable. Remember, that Apple has the whole approval process which I assume is rather costly to operate. In addition Google's infrastructure is already in place, while Apple had to expand it.
Well.... Considering that Chromebooks are nowhere to be seen in the stores, Google is solving the same problem that Apple had to. It's just that they are doing it in the newer Apple fashion - Chromezone is like Apple stand in those stores.
The in store prices are comparable. And remeber that Apple does not reduce the price of older models until new ones come out. All other consumer electronics manufacturers actually reduce their prices with time, even without new devices. Therefore, HTC Sensation is probably already a bit cheaper to the operator than an iPhone4.
No.... High margin income for Apple is lower user base for developers. So profit is meaningless beyond results of one company. Will it fuel further development in the product line? We just don't know. For all we know, Apple is making the next/next gen device now.
Last year, Apple had a meager 1 billion income from app sales(based on 4bn global market with Apple owning 100%)*. Their expenses for maintaining that thing are really considerable.
* - Other sources claim ~510mil, based on 1.7bn AppStore sales. I go for higher, just to show that it's really not their interest to sell apps, it's their interest to sell more devices at $200 -> $500 margins.
I'm sorry, but as a ThinkPad user that is forced to use a Dell I have to say that Dells are cheap crap lately*, even at the high end. It's the little things that make them crap, though their build quality is proably as good as Apples' or ThinkPads'.
* - Older Latitudes were much better.
Sure they do.... Do you remember what market dominance leads to? Does it remind you of Windows? Apple's meager single digit desktop OS share?
And they know, that when Android's market share gets to a certain level, their income will plummet. They need to have developer support and market share; both of those are very much related to each other.
Even though they are making a most of income, there is Samsung that is growing like crazy. Why do you think all those lawsuits got started?
Is that why iPod's sales are pumetting quarter to quarter? I think many more people now see cheaper Android phones as the multimedia devices for their kids. Since the price is right and it's also a phone. Granted, it might not be the case in US.
You are making a very simple mistake of correlating privacy and freedom. Freedom has little to do with privacy. Anonymity(also confused with privacy quite often) is something very recent and does not relate to freedom*.

I do believe that support for OpenCL in Linux is in the best interest of the GPGPU manufacturers(AMD, nVidia). Because Linux based HPC systems dominate the market and Windows ain't going to unseat Linux anytime soon. Thus you might not have all the features of the 3D stack, however OpenCL is definitely something fully implemented by AMD and nVidia.
I think ships still are a better alternative for China-US link. Although the rail link could have higher speeds at lower cost. In addition, trains can be powered by renewable energy(I believe ships are less likely to be powered by renewable energy).
Do even know what the issue with Sun vs Microsoft was? Misrepresentation and inappropriate use of Java trademark. Microsoft called their version of Java - Java. That was the main issue, although their Java continues existence in the form of J++.
Do No Evil? I don't think so.
FYI: Google's moto is "Don't be evil" not "Do no evil".
Vileness is another word for vegemite....

So does the developer API Demo's app, what your point?

Google should charge MS $15 for each click that directs to an MS site. And give that money back to HTC as compensation...

Don't forget drawable-xhdpi and other -ldpi, -mdpi, -hdpi, -xhdpi, -nodpi, -tvdpi, -large, -small, etc...

That tells me that the legal system is rather broken...
You are wrong. Privacy gives you freedom.
Does it really give you freedom? Or does privacy give you control over you social image?
Did I? Really? But feel free to extrapolate and skip my first statement...

You think that there aren't any self critical Russians?
However, the goal is different - today the goal is only to depose US from the global policeman post.
